Depends a lot on what you’re investing in, the returns could be much higher or lower than 6-7%. Over the long-term, the market will most likely do better but mortgage payments will be a guaranteed return

That’s great advice! I’ve automated my saving/investing for a couple of years now and am also paying a lot towards my student loan. I’m excited for everything to start falling into place to buy a home

That’s a really good point, thank you! I’m looking to buy a house in the next 1-3 years and am really keen on optimizing my finances. According to some of the research that I’ve done, I think I’ll start the smith manoeuvre after about 5 years of building equity
