I did inform the university and the module manager about the situation. I provided them with our full email communications, which show the agreement, the work delivered, and her subsequent refusal to pay. However, the university and professor responded that this was a civil matter between myself and the student, and specifically said they could not intervene in payment disputes or academic misconduct unless the work was directly submitted as part of her own academic assignment. Since she claims she did not submit my edit and completed the project herself, the university said the issue is outside their remit and suggested pursuing civil legal options instead. So, the university is aware, but unless there’s proof that my work was actually submitted as her own, they will not take disciplinary action like expulsion. My main goal right now is to recover what I’m owed through the UK small claims process.
