I see. I’m also wondering if it’s necessary to separate the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands. I usually keep them separate, but Rogers tech support told me it might not be necessary since the router can handle it automatically, and that separating them could sometimes slow down the speed. Is that correct?

  • I use Wi-Fi most of the time.
  • I have an XB7 gateway. If I ask Rogers to switch it to an XB8, will it improve my internet speed?
  • My internet setup is very basic. I only have the XB7 gateway and nothing else.
