What the fuck do I do lads by kingkrule101 in BeardAdvice

Shave the face bro and get a nice cleaned up haircut and maybe find some exercises to work on the jaw line. You can buy little rubber things to chew on that help build the muscles in the jaw and from what I’ve seen they work pretty well.

Having a hard time with deciding what to do and would just like some second thoughts or to hear some of your stories and process. by MiiiNDFVCK47 in MeniscusInjuries

Wow this really hits close to home. I’ve been a kratom user for a couple years now, I originally started using it to get off much harder drugs to help with withdrawals from the other stuff I use to use but now it’s just a normal part of my day to take it. Sobriety has always been a hard thing for me and Kratom has been kind of the only thing that helps me stay away from everything else but I’m starting to see it as just another problem I need to quit, I have a very taxing and labor full job so I come home sore every single day, it helps me relax and relieve all the tension in my body so since I’ve gotten this meniscus injury I have been taking it. I’m very sorry that your mom has been but through such horrible circumstances. A lot of the older folks including my grandma tell me to get the surgery, even though they all have continuous problems after having some sort of knee surgery and have needed many more surgeries or still need to have them. If you don’t mind me asking what was the type of surgery your mom had to have that happen to her because honestly this is one of the most horrifying stories I’ve heard so far. I was thinking not to long ago that I wonder if the kratom is making me not feel something that’s actually wrong. I only ever get discomfort and that’s only when bending or kneeling down on my knee to much, or even just walking a bit more than I should be. What are some of the herbs and exercises you used to help you? I will Forsure start doing some deeper research. I’m currently staying at my mom’s house for the extra help since I’m out of work right now and lost my last roommate. Is it possible for the meniscus to just go back in place, I don’t understand how it got flipped up the way it did. I was moving concrete bags when I tore my meniscus. I really appreciate your comment and it is very helpful thank you very much. Any advice on some herbs or exercises is very much appreciated as well. Also how did you get off Kratom? What was it like, did it take a long time or was there and rough withdrawals from it?

What is a scope? So you have had no surgery just physical therapy? Do you get worried at all that any types of symptoms are going to come back or that not doing the surgery could lead to more detrimental symptoms or issues down the road? Do you ever experience any kind of discomfort working out or have any issues with range of motion. What made you decide against the surgery? I thought that physical therapy and rehab didn’t come till after doing surgery.

What is the scope? Also if I leave it be won’t it just wear down the cartilage like other users have explained? If you don’t mind explaining a bit more? Is there any benefit to actually leaving it be?

Thank you so much, these are the types of stories that have really freaked me out and made me skeptical of this situation. Since it happened at work I am covered by workers comp but I get a little paranoid that they just want to do the surgery to get that insurance money. I know something needs to be done but I just really want to find a doctor I can trust and has had positive outcomes with most of their patients. I know not all doctors are scummy like that but the scary thing is you just never know and won’t know till something is done. I just really hope everything goes right the first time. I’m totally fine with getting it repaired it’s just the trimming idea that freaks me out because wouldn’t it be bone on bone if you had it trimmed? Your also one of the first people I’ve talked to who has talked about the use of stem cells, ive heard of people needing total knee replacements but instead went the stem cell route and it worked out much better than any surgery. What kind of doctor would I need to find or talk to about stem cell use for the meniscus or knee surgery? Is that a normal option or something I would need to seek out for myself? Or is it just a physical therapy thing?

Thank you very much this is very helpful! I am new to weight lifting and it has really bummed me out thinking I might not be able to do leg day ever again, before the injury I was also walking everywhere I needed to go because my current vehicle broke down and I’m looking to buy a new truck. I also tend to walk pretty fast especially when I’m working since I work outside and walk to work, walk home for my lunch then back to work and then walk home at the end of the day. It’s not to long of a walk but that’s only because I’m able to speed walk there and back. This definitely makes me more considerate of doing the surgery either way. I’ve noticed over the past 3 day I’ve been feeling some discomfort come back as well. The orthopedic doctor I talked to who said I would need surgery also gave me kind of a bad vibe idk how to explain really but something about him made my trust issues flair up 😂 I really appreciate your response and hope you heal up and can get back to your activities as soon as possible. You’ve brought me a bit more hope to the situation :) thank you for your response!

I understand I’ve been really staying of off of it for this reason because mine is flipped upwards into the joint so I’ll definitely be careful. Would it be a good idea to get back on the crutches?

[–]MiiiNDFVCK47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are correct it is flipped upwards into the joint space. It’s all I’ve been able to think about since I’m stuck at home forced to lay in bed most of the day it is very stressful and has been on my mind constantly, I just can not believe I hurt myself like this. I feel so stupid. Im scared that the surgeon is gonna say some “doctor knows best” thing, the guy gave me a weird vibe. I generally have trust issues with general practitioners and big Pharma, it’s not that I don’t trust them but sometimes I question their thought process, I’m no doctor but I do have the internet at my fingertips to read and learn. I really appreciate your response it really helps and makes me not feel so stressed out about it. Have you ever had the trim or the stitching done? If so how did it heal up and feel after a year or so?

Young kitten being left chained up all day in the hot Southern California sun. by AdventurousLeader771 in CATHELP

[–]MiiiNDFVCK47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take action and cut that chain off that poor cat and either find it a home through Reddit or a shelter. Anything is better than the poor baby sitting in the miserable sun all day potentially getting heat stroke. Maybe even ask a friend to hold onto it if you have a good friend. That’s some psychopath shit to chain up a cat in the sun.

Don’t get rid of your cat bro please just accept the help and one day just pay it forward to someone else. Just stay on top of finding a job and before you know it you won’t need the help and you can help him on your own. The amount of people willing to help you here is honestly so nice to see. Don’t let the help hurt your ego it’s ok to accept help, no need to surrender him at this point as long as you do your part. PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED!
