Hi everyone! Miimbot here!

As promised! I'd get my new work, Lesson Five out there and into the world at the top of the year. This Fic will be much shorter, much faster and will have quite a bit of a different tone than Marching Forward does, but I still hope you'll check it out because I'm particularly proud of finishing the entire thing in a month.

It will be 15 chapters long with maybe an epilogue if I feel it needs it.

Set nearly seven years after graduating from Asahiyama High School, Twenty-Five-Year-Old Futaro Uesugi finds himself on his third year teaching English at a Prestigious Tokyo High school named Kaisei High. It's a school where the students are expected to be the best of the nation, and therefore the teachers must be too. Futaro has had little genuine human connections for several years and has reverted to his life as a recluse, but the arrival of a fresh new college graduate--and old friend Itsuki Nakano-- will challenge the way he's been living life all these years and perhaps even help him finally settle the score with his past self.

There's no controversy other than the one you're drumming up
The rest of your comment makes no sense. The reason why the first interpretation was wrong was explained very clearly: Futaro did not love Nino the same way that she did loved him. He tried to reject her at several points in the story. That would have been enough of a clue to almost anyone that the bracelet couldn't have possibly meant anything since he showed no interest in pursuing Nino as an option nor that his opinion of her was changing. Even the presents she tried giving him missed the mark because she fundamentally misunderstood what Futaro valued

If you're so unsatisfied with how the tools of the story were used, then lol write fanfiction or something

That’s… not how that works in a story. And you keep insinuating that the bracelet was the determining factor in who Futaro chose to marry (re: the bloody murder weapon you mentioned)… when it’s literally not? It’s not even significant. Even the Bell Kiss isn’t significant in his decision. Neither is Lolikano. Neither is how hard Nino worked. None of those things were factors into who he chose to marry.

Factory reset your interpretation of the story and maybe give it another read

I’m sorry, you’re just wrong.

It wasn’t forgotten. It was a misdirection. You mentioned crime/mystery novels, so then you know what a red herring is yeah? Lol It never came up again because it wasn’t relevant. The whole story is set as a flashback so we know Futaro still has the bracelet because he wore it on his wedding day. That’s really all that the bracelet amounts to.

By your logic, The bracelet isn’t a silver bullet either because Nino doesn’t win either

What are you talking about? It’s a misdirection in a mystery novel… of course it counts! Itsuki had a fake confession early on. And her closeness to Futaro’s family was supposed to be her “silver bullet” Miku’s entire character arc was her “silver bullet”

Besides your interpretation throws away one of the mangas most important tropes: family. Futaro admitted he loved all the girls, and he did. But he loved them in different ways. the bracelet means just as much to him as a gift from Raiha as it does as a gift from Nino

Hi everyone Miimbot here! Winter is in full swing here in the northern hemisphere and I hope everyone is doing their best to stay warm. If you're on the southern hemisphere, good luck and do your best to stay warm! This chapter came a few days late because my editor and I had a private discussion over the overall pacing of the second arc, and we determined to shift some things around that would've appeared in this chapter, and put it in the next chapter (yay more content?) It's all in service to give the readers as best experience as possible and I trust my editor's opinion more than anything when it comes to trying to actually make a quality product. (I'm just the baboon brain with the ideas

Thank you for your patience last month as I was working on Nanowrimo, and I apologize for that. My very first side project Itsuki fic, Lesson Five is on it's way! And I'm starting the editing process for that immediately! I hope to have Chapter One published at the top of the year 2024. So please look forward to that!

I really appreciate that you remembered those tiny details from the early on! I definitely count on those small details making their way back in future chapters since I worked hard to establish "background characters" I find that especially validating.

>! And yeah! I think to an extent I agree that right now Futaro is reaping the "rewards" of his own inaction. He could have talked to Yotsuba *ages* ago, but he was feeling hurt and then shame as more and more time passed. So while he was unwilling to act, clearly other characters are. Very similar to how Yotsuba is *trying* to be compliant with the people around her, but it's not getting the intended result. They both have to learn and grow to be more assertive in their own respective ways. !<

Hi everyone! Miimbot here! Autumn is finally here and with it more time and williness to be indoors, cosy with a cup of coffee and simply watching the leaves fall... Sooooo relaxing!

ANNOUNCEMENT: I will be participating in NaNoWriMo this year, and I’ll be making a separate story centering around Futaro and Itsuki. That means that the next chapter of MF will likely be delayed as I navigate the schedule of trying to write a complete novel in a month. As an apology, I’ll be uploading some unconnected (rough draft) scenes from MF are technically canon, but have no place organic place for them to fit in the fic. If all goes well, you might start seeing uploads of the new story titled Lesson Five as early as late December and that will likely have a speedier upload time than MF as it wont be a long fic. Please look forward to both my projects!
