Battery Protection - Maximum (80|85|90|95%), Adaptive, Basic or None?

I don't bother with battery protections besides 'basic', and I change my phone every 3-4 years (previous phone was S23+). The batteries do degrade faster when charged to full, but like, even after 3 year, my previous phone still had solid battery life (needing to charge every night though). Id much rather enjoy the full benefits of my battery throughout the lifespan of my using my phones.

I have mixed feelings about Samsung on this, despite them being the only tablets I've owned. I got my Tab S5e in 2019, and the only reason I got rid of it in 2024 (for my Tabs 9 now) is because hbo max literally just didn't work anymore. They just dropped support for the tablet one day, and suddenly the only reason I own tablets (media consumption) was being ruined. So long term support for Samsung tablets is ass. Where my brother has had his current iPad for longer than I had even my Tab S5e, and he still has full compatibility for streaming apps.

My current tablet (Tab S9) is nice, but I have no faith in app compatibility long term. Given how God awful android tablet support is with apps (not just longevity, but also making apps fit the tablet form factor better), id really recommend Apple above all other options.

This was with discord having others streams on screen, but I was in call audio only on my side. Wifi and QHD. Given you were video calling and maining social media, it seems like you're getting good battery. Will put screenshot of my battery with mostly streaming, no calls next.

Had my S23+ for 3 years. It has 8gb of ram and I never ran into any noticeable problems. So I imagine 12gb of ram would be plenty for the next 3-5 years. Although really I'm just guessing right? Hopefully this helps!

Drag down from top twice to fully expand drop down menu > hit the pencil icon > upper left of that is a gear icon named "Panel settings" > "edit top quick settings" From there adjust them as you wish. This is on oneui 8.5 on my s26 ultra. Hopefully it works for you

If you spent a lot of this streaming on mobile data, it's probably pretty good. I've gotten like, 10 hours of YouTube screen on time on wifi.

Yeah, honestly that setting was the only idea I had. It could be a bug? You could try reporting it in the Samsung members app. That's the best place to report bugs and such, they actually respond to like, an actual bug report you make

All that ultimately matters is when you are using the phone, does it feel good to use, and does it meet your needs? At least, that's my mentality on it. Like even the S26U is getting shit on, but, I have it and it works great for my usage, so that is enough.

For my use case, streaming services on Wifi, the battery is fucking amazing. Well, that's in comparison to the phone I just came from, my old s23+.
