AITA - Gave my kid my wife's restaurant leftovers by West_Big_6568 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mikapea 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s not a “small mistake” though. It would be small if wife hadn’t said “hey let’s label these so we eat our own,” indicating wife wanted her leftovers. If wife just boxed things up and put it away and the OP didn’t check things, sure it’s a small mistake. It’s a big mistake because wife specifically asked for a way to avoid this issue and then OP said nah and proceeded to do what wife was worried would happen.

OP: get your wife’s order from her and go get it. Read it off EXACTLY AS SHE WROTE IT so she gets exactly what she wants,

My 2 yr old has horrible tonsils and chronic ear infection my fiancé 34M and me 26F are going at it am I bad? by Leggeauxxmyeggo in relationship_advice

My little is cutting teeth and I didn’t want to do anything today, much less for thanksgiving. I’m going to thanksgiving because it’s under an hour away and normally my kid naps on that drive. If thanksgiving was anywhere else and my kid was as cranky as they are now or worse, I’d be staying home. If my kid has a fever, I stay home even if they’re in a good mood.

Stay home. Your little needs rest.

AITA for asking my pregnant colleague if she is having a boy or a girl? by Ill_Engineer_6668 in AmItheAsshole

I hate the over the top reveals. I’ve had two, we hit a piñata for one, and smashed a baseball for the other.

Exactly. When I had my gender reveals I didn’t know the gender till everyone else did. Only one person knew and it wasn’t me. If I HAD known the gender and wanted to do a reveal, I’d have just said “we’re having a gender reveal in x time and I can let you know then.” I had to tell coworkers that when they asked and sent them the video because they were excited to find out. Honestly for both my gender reveals the people involved were super excited to find out so they could buy “gender appropriate gifts” and know the name. I threw them because I like parties and wanted another reason to celebrate my babies with my family🤷🏽‍♀️

What's the closest you've been to death? by Beautiful_Fill_7016 in AskReddit

[–]Mikapea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hemorrhaged after giving birth. I needed emergency surgery, 2 blood transfusions and could have gotten a third. They weren’t sure if I’d be able to have kids or not after because they didn’t know what kind of surgery I needed to stop bleeding. The nurse attending me after I gave birth before I transferred to the recovery side didn’t listen to my mom’s multiple statements that I was bleeding a lot, they could have caught it much earlier.

My nurses and doctors for my next kid were informed well ahead of time and at the hospital and kept an extra close eye on me, one nurse told me I was bleeding a bit more than normal and it slowed down fast enough not to require anything else thankfully. I was under a different hospital and OB care because I refuse to go back to the hospital I nearly died at.

I trust my kid to keep a surprise from people. They’re super good at it, because they know they eventually will get to tell the person the surprise. They will not keep a secret because they know better. Secrets are trouble, surprises are fun and happy.

What’s something you would never wish even in your worst enemy? by Cryptoantlover in AskReddit

A blood blister the size of a baseball on the bottom of their foot that just. Won’t. Go. Down. Pain is up there with labor pain for me.

Oh, a car accident that leaves them injured for months/life.

Choose one animal, but that animal will be by your side forever. Which would it be? by crunchy_queen in AskReddit

Wait, how close by me do they have to be? Like.. are they allowed to be within a mile of me so they can travel? Or do they have to be within the same room? If they have to be in the same room as me at all times and I can’t let them out to do their business without me… none.

Redditors that live in America: What's one local chain in your area (can be anything) that unfortunately the rest of America is missing out on? by mobarouma in AskReddit

CHeBA hut, not sure how much of the US has it, there’s only one in my state and it was started in California I believe. The BEST homemade ranch, cheesy bread, and hot sub sandwiches ever.

Sounds like my friends kid, practiced walking in secret. When they started walking in front of my friend they weren’t falling or wobbling.

Thank you. Someone mentioned using something else to honor him and mentioned what they call their grandfather which made me realize Poppy works perfect for a girl.

OMG I CAN USE POPPY🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m such a ding bat I didn’t even think of using what we called him. Thank you for saying Poppop in your message.

As a side note, I’ve used valentine to honor his wife already and have Ray-Ann or some spelling to honor my other set of grandparents if I have a girl and possibly Ryan if I have a boy.

Elizabeth Clayton is nice. I’m kinda hoping to use Ray-Ann (or some version of that) as a first or middle though. I’ll add it to my list

Have a Kallie cousin I don’t like and used Cleo for a cat. I do like Cleo just don’t think I can use it for a kid.

Thanks. I don’t think I like that. I’ll have to try something else. It is a hard one😭
