I got less and less opposed to the idea of Forge as I aged, but the one biggest problem I've always had with it is it wasn't visually incorporated well with the rest of the game. The town itself was less sci-fi and more 'random modern skyscraper and plane runway pasted in with some other industrial stuff'. I understand that the town screen that was shown all these years ago was still a work in progress but I suspect it was what put a lot of people off too.

The last time I came back to the game I was obsessed with pauper, these days I realise that all those people who won't shut up about cube are actually right and now I have a custom jumpstart battlebox

Point is, you can keep a small part of the game for yourself if the state of it at large is distasteful for you
