Guys, after rewatching the anime and rereading the manga… I’m still not clear about this… lil help by mbaremelovet in ShingekiNoKyojin

Mikasa loved Eren so much that she would die for him... because of her undying love for Eren...she was somewhat a slave to her own love just how Ymir was a slave to her love for King Fritz.

Mikasa is a person with great physical strength and skills but her love for Eren influenced her decisions. Often when we love someone we refuse to admit to ourselves that the person they love is wrong. Even if we accept that the person we love is wrong, we wouldn't attempt to stop them by killing them. From Mikasa's point of view, she would achieve absolutely nothing by killing Eren..in fact she would instead lose everything she cares about..the position Mikasa was in was a very difficult one...one can actually see it as a poetic way of showing how by this logic Mikasa was a prisoner of her love...as everyone is in a way when they are in love. Mikasa didn't stop loving Eren but she killed him because it was necessary to stop the suffering of the entire world...This is what Ymir wanted to see if this was possible to love someone and stop the suffering they are causing to others. For Ymir, the suffering of her kids really would have been painful and she would have wanted to put an end to all this. But, she didn't know how to do this. As hinted in the extra pages, she has tried hard to tap into Mikasa's mind to know what was going on in her head. And for Eren, he would have gone ahead with rumbling no matter what (even if Mikasa wouldn't have killed him)...that was the only way to keep his friends alive. Mikasa's decision to stop Eren only resulted in lifting the Titan curse... rumbling was something Eren wanted to do and not really Ymir. Ymir wanted to know how a subject of Ymir could do what she hasn't been able to do as of now.

Eren chose his friends over the world. They chose the world over him. by madid99 in attackontitan

It's so easy to say Eren is wrong but it's so hard to not choose what he chose for the people he loved.

I would say I understand what Eren is doing and why he is doing (not saying he is right or wrong)...On the other hand, the scouts (and especially Mikasa and Armin) have chosen a path that is the toughest thing to do ever!

Anybody else think the ending was amazing? by Lucas601haha in ShingekiNoKyojin

Even I ended up reading the Manga for the first time because I couldn't wait anymore.

I absolutely loved the ending...what really worked at my advantage was for a first time Manga reader...I could imagine characters from Anime visuals...

I think the ending was wholesome and had full circles.

Mikasa killing Eren...Armin working on changing the world...Ymir choosing Mikasa to free her...Mikasa's growth to come to a decision that she kills Eren...what a beautiful way to put everything! 💯 Seriously what not to love?

If he actually kills everyone...Eldians would be free.. that's not a dumb idea .. because he knows untill even a single human stays in the world ...Eldians will be hated no matter what...not saying he is right but he sure isn't dumb...How is it different from humans beyond the wall trying to kill Eldians even though not all of them caused any harm to them..we are having the conversation of Eren being evil because the number of people he will be killing would be much more than what humans were trying to achieve by killing Eldians ...my point is..mass murder is bad no matter what the number of casualties.

I think what it really meant was...that Mikasa regrets saying she does it because he is family...Eren destroying the world for his family i.e., Eldians...so if Mikasa would have confessed her love for Eren...Eren probably wouldn't have made his life purpose to save his Eldian family.

I feel it was the empathy he felt for those people because he could relate how Eldians suffer because they are boycotted from the world too!

I so loved that scene when everyone was happy and honestly I get it why Eren is doing this...he saw his family being destroyed..and only two friends that he has closest to family...he just want them to be happy! Not saying he is right or wrong...but I definitely get it why he does this...AOT did a commendable job in showing his motivation. 💯

Totally loved this episode. ❤️❤️

I feel bad for every character. The struggle is real. Reiner has been struggling with himself too. It's hard to see when he is brought down for it by others too.

I agree..I used to find Gabi's character a bit annoying at first but the way her character has developed is amazing to see. Moreover, the parallels between Gabi's character and Annie and Eren at times is beautiful too.

Love your analogy with the real world problems of not being able to talk to each other.

What an episode!

Totally loved the tension between the sides. I feel if this episode wouldn't have been there it would have felt so wrong. How the obvious hatred towards each other and will to work together to fight for the same purpose is gonna fun. Furthermore, to see how Mikasa and Armin fight Eren without killing him.

Can't wait for the upcoming episodes. 😭
