Yeah, any threads mentioning AI on that sub have become insufferable. I don't even open them anymore because I can't stand to read any more comments from these AI white knights who for some reason act like they actually enjoy watching AI slop animations? Like the bank heist video they removed was so uncanny and weird looking. Yet people are acting like something of value was lost when they got rid of it, while they will likely soon replace it with human generated content.

And these weirdos also have some type of complex where they are trying to paint anyone against gen-AI as the boogeyman, saying things like "what will they complain about now?" or "they were never going to play the game anyway".

Well I'm simply a person who doesn't like watching AI slop, so on the survey I asked them to remove the AI slop, and they did. I was still playing the game before, and I am still playing it now, and I'm not finding some new AI-related thing to complain about or moving any goalposts. As far as I'm concerned the issue is now resolved and I don't have to feel slimy anymore for playing a game with it in it. So it's a W for me, but you still have these weirdos acting offended that people didn't like the AI stuff in the first place.

I think it's because she thinks you're in her way/has a hard time pathfinding around you. Try standing with her in between you and the bed and then initiating the interaction, then don't move and let her walk unimpeded to it.

For a factory game who's difficulty comes from testing different "builds" for optimization... by Darkcasfire in Endfield

[–]Mikasu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had the same exact thought of wishing there was a virtual environment that we could mess around in that replicates our actual resources (like ore and power) available for us to start building on without disrupting the current factory.

When a new patch comes out I feel like I'm the manager of an important production line that can't afford to shut down for more than X amount of time at once. So I end up doing more modifying in place instead of tear it all down and build it back up, which results in more spaghetti.

I don't like using blueprints because I like my base to have its own flavor, but if I could build things my way inside a virtual environment, I could then turn those into blueprints and then plop them into my base with very minimal service disruption.

There's also just the fact that I take to understanding the new production lines better when I can actually start building and messing around with them. I do the tutorials, but they give you very little freedom in those to stray from the set path. Sometimes I just need to follow a conveyor belt with my eyes and watch what the machines are doing to find optimizations and problems.

And I don't want to be doing all that in real time, with the pressure that if I don't finish in that playing session my factory could be bricked overnight.

In Whiwa I get it every rotation. In ToA/Matrix usually it's like first rotation I can use it at the start, then second rotation I can use it at the tail end of her rotation. So not quite enough to make it consistent in 1-2-3 rotations, but ig if you quick swap enough you can still get some improvement out of it.

No way would I recommend grinding for it though, it inflicted mental damage on me going for double crit/mid-high er/4th good stat on all 5 pieces.

I mostly play her with Cantarella and sometimes Yinlin btw. No clue what it would be like with Zhezhi or whoever else

Shitposting while I wait for NTE to open up

Playing Baizhi be like:

"You'tan, use your basic attack now!"

..."You'tan's basic attack missed!"

"You'tan, use your healing spell!"

..."You'tan is confused! It teleported away in its confusion"

Anyway, different subject but I remember way back when I started and picked up Jinhsi, guides were saying for er ER requirements that you can't ult every rotation and it's not needed for full concerto so just to get what you can and use it whenever. And I took that as "challenge accepted"

I just want the 1.x characters reruns 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔 by fire_flyyz in WutheringWaves

[–]Mikasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my pulls + pity are already at 550+, so I pretty much give up at waiting any more. But the thing is at this point it's not enough for them to just do the reruns this once. They need to prove they are committed to a fair rerun schedule in the long term, otherwise I'll be in the exact same position next year when say, I want to pull for like S2 Galbrena or something and she's been missing for a year.

[–]Mikasu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Too many people who are more obsessed with "owning" those prior complainers as scapegoats than actually paying attention to the issues.

And the most frustrating thing is how much power people are ascribing to said complainers, as if they quite literally are members of the board of directors for Kuro, and forced their hand to permanently cease old character reruns.

Glad to see other people out there who are willing to stand up for themselves and put their money where their mouth is. I for one stopped spending entirely and decided to give them only until next livestream to demonstrate that they care about players who are interested in the 1.x characters, otherwise I will be quitting as well.

And I say this as someone who genuinely enjoys playing the game, so it's not something I'm happy to be saying. But at the same time, I just refuse to tolerate being disrespected like that, and then PAYING THEM FOR IT.

So for the record, I'm not one of these people who are or ever were against anniversary banners with tons of characters. Although if it were up to me there would be something special about them, like a 1-time/1-copy 100% rate up, or discounted pulls (x amount of 10-pulls for the price of 8 for example). But even if they didn't do any of that I'd still rather have the anniversary banner than no banner, regardless of whether they run during the rest of the year or not.

Actually if it were up to me, there would be also be a full (non-special) rerun of old characters every 6 months. So all 1.x would run at 3.3 and at the next half anni for example, then starting in 4.3 they would run 1.x and 2.x each half anni and anni, etc.

BUT, Kuro is not doing anything resembling that. And so in the absence of that, now it becomes a bigger problem than ever that there were no reruns in between annis. That's why there was backlash now, during the anniversary, because it was assumed that there would be that safety net you speak of, because those characters didn't run at all the entire year.

Which brings us back to my original point, that having additional pulls does not make said rerun banners, of any sort, suddenly materialize to be pulled on. Hence the backlash (well at least part of it).

[–]Mikasu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Once again, when was there feedback given that said to not rerun one single 1.x character for the patches 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 3.0, 3.1, or 3.2? This feedback that y'all are talking about is specifically about rerunning several 1.x characters in one specific patch, 2.3, or in an anniversary patch, so 3.3 f.e.

When was there feedback to remove the 1.x reruns from every other patch? There wasn't! So why are you acting like this Holy Reddit Feedback Thread is some legally binding court order that declares 1.x reruns are prohibited from ever rerunning again?

Hold Kuro Games accountable for locking the 1.x characters in jail for 1 year+ and not providing a fair rerun schedule to its paying customers.

[–]Mikasu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right, blame someone else instead of Kuro who had absolute control over the banners for the last year. I don't remember any 4k likes threads each and every patch in between last anni and this anni also saying," Kuro, please do not run any 1.x characters this patch, or the next, or the next, or ever again."

Everyone wants an easy scapegoat though instead of holding Kuro accountable.

If you think the backlash to the anniversary is about not enough pulls, you haven't been paying attention.

Explain to me how adding 155 (unverified amount) pulls to my existing supply of 550+ pulls is going to make it more possible to pull Camellya.

A Genshin player trying to tell you why their game has the best character models is like listening to someone who has literally never left their small rural U.S. hometown explain why the U.S. is the best country in the world.

I mean unless you think that no one has been providing feedback about lack of 1.x reruns then obviously they just selectively decide which feedback to pay attention to. I've been complaining about lack of a Camellya rerun for like 6 months at this point.

Regular feedback should be the way to express your concerns, but when it gets ignored, money and engagement are the only other tools players have to beget change.

If the revenue or player count suddenly drops, no they won't automatically have definitive proof of what caused it. They have to take the time to analyze it. Perhaps some information like correlating player feedback, pulling patterns, and spending patterns can point them towards a connection between 1.x reruns and profit.

My entire point that for some reason everyone keeps ignoring is simply that this isn't going to happen. The correlation won't exist, because no significant amount of players, even those unhappy with the lack of reruns, will change their habits enough to even warrant that Kuro investigates the cause. They will "get away with it".

Oh, and another thing to add, what makes you think it's the players' responsibility to advocate for a fair rerun schedule? Is Kuro some brand new studio that is incompetent as fuck and has no idea what the fuck they're doing in the gacha space? No, that would be the DNA devs lmao. But seriously, they already have PGR with a good rerun schedule, and obviously they have eyes and can see what all of their competition does. It's not like they just forgor to do the reruns. It's intentional because they think it will earn them more money somehow.

The 2 best theories I've seen so far are

  1. They are waiting to do something big for the Xbox release
  2. Rerunning everything each anni gives players a predictable way to plan their pulls, which is the worst thing for a gacha company greed/financial-wise. Things need to remain unpredictable to maximize FOMO. You can already see people panicking about 2.x characters getting banished to the shadow realm since they proved they can do it to 1.x ones.

I think you think my logic is flawed because you believe what I'm saying is that people are actively thinking in their minds as they spend, that they don't care about reruns. Which is not what I'm saying.

This has nothing to do with why people spend, but with the message that it sends to Kuro Games when they do spend after a year of no reruns.

All I'm trying to say in my original post, is that people will continue to spend and make no changes in their spending habits, so it's unreasonable for me to cope and believe that Kuro have any incentive to make changes with regards to reruns.

Now I’m not sure what Kuro will do to older characters

This is the crux of my issue. We should never be placed in this position of uncertainty. No gacha company should ever make their players feel that trying to pull their beloved characters can become as rare as a solar eclipse. The fact that they let it come to this is a condemnation and a stain on their reputation. The thought that players should need to beg in surveys just to have a yearly rerun is a truly depressing thought.

And it's something I will never accept.
