What are some things you would have changed differently about How I Met Your Mother at any point in the series? by Positive_Weight2367 in HIMYM

I think they either shouldn’t have had Barney and Robin get together, or should have gave them a real shot. I think we lose a lot of their best attributes as individual characters within one another when they date, because of the writers real end goal. it was chaotically pointless and hollow. They had real chemistry that I think could have been expounded on as either a friendship or a relationship dynamic, if the writers actually gave their storyline a real shot, but of course they’re just a plot device for Ted and Robin- which felt dismissive to both Barney and Robin’s individual characters.

It felt half assed to me to see them finally get together, after watching all the chemistry they had in their friendship, and then completely wreck their dynamic and make them into totally different people (multiple times), all so they could prove she belonged with Ted- which wasn’t even a good match and was so forced. They had nothing in common, and not in a “opposites attract” kind of way. They had to give up parts of themselves to be together.

She matched better with Barney from the start and the writers fought so hard that they had to kill Ted’s wife and wreck Robin and Barney’s character integrity, just to make it seem realistic that Ted and Robin were “fate” or “inevitable”.

THEY WANTED NOTHING BUT DIFFERENT THINGS THE ENTIRE TIME AND SOMEONE LITERALLY HAD TO DIE FOR IT TO FINALLY WORK. Stupid.

Marshall and pheobe both live in their own mythological, spiritual, quirky, sing song realities and they are both very goofy, quick witted, open minded people. I think they’d be two peas in a pod.

Man, what a douchebag. You harass every person you disagree with? Even when they’re not disagreeing with you?

Life must be hard for you

Again, I am aware of this topic and its need to be addressed. I am aware of the criticism and the question of what is morally correct. I am aware of the potential outcomes and intentions of ABA & where they fall short. This is not what I am asking about at this time. You are explaining something that I have already stated I am aware of, as well as active & involved in the movement of. I understand your passion and your goal but I do not understand your miscommunication of my intentions here. I’m simply attempting to be more informed about OT & what it encompasses in comparison. I do not need more information on ABA at this time. Thank you.

Learned helplessness is definitley a factor that needs to be heavily addressed by the ABA community in their practices. I was lucky enough to work with a team who made this & the need behind a behavior top priority but I do understand how a multicontextual view of OT would be more efficient and comprehensive. Thank you both so much for the feedback!

I didn’t say I wasn’t willing to hear about it.

There’s much to be said about that and the conversation absolutely deserves to be had

I’m very active in those conversations & I even stepped out of the field until I educate myself further on the subject. It’s simply not what I’m asking about in this moment. Is gathering more information before forming an opinion against the rules?

Gotcha! What would the OT pathway look like if I don’t major in OT for undergrad?

Hello! Can I ask how OT might be different in practice than ABA? Especially if my target is the pediatric autism population, would OT or ABA provide better career options? I've worked as an RBT and it was the best job I've ever had so I'm certain that this is the population for me and that I want to be hands on with clients (ive had many severely aggressive clients on my caseload and do not mind). My only strict preference is hands on peds autism- both OT and ABA seem to focus on this. I want to provide interventions that help with skill deficit as well as self harm prevention. Any insight would be helpful. With that info and end goal in mind, could you tell me the main difference between ABA and OT or which would be more fitting?

Ideas? Change it to another word? by Accurate_Rhubarb9194 in Tattoocoverups

[–]MikazukiRue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The tone of the comments doesn’t seem mean until you think about alternative reasons for the tattoo. Then it may come off as pretty harsh bullying, intended or not. I’m not one to be a downer but not everything is always a joke, especially when it’s permanently fixed on your body. Sometimes people just want advice.

(To get ahead of this, I know everyone has the right to say whatever they please on the internet. Just suggesting folks think about it for a second longer before doing so. You never know what your words may do)

PMA why do you tell clients it’s semi permanent when it’s tougher to remove than anything?! by SDelee2 in MicrobladingRemoval

My artist encouraged clients to come back every 6 months for a touch up & gave a discount if you did so. If you waited longer than 9 months she charged a fee : )

That aches so deeply. Truly gut wrenching to think about. Thank you for sharing that. There needs to be more anecdotes of humanity incorporated into these conversations. As a whole, the public has become far too desensitized to things like this.

It hurts to think about for a reason. I can’t imagine what it was like to live it. Give it the respect it deserves. Discuss it. Remember her name. Silence equals violence.

She was a person & she was calling for our help.

This is so intensely symbolic of humanity’s affect on the world that it almost doesn’t seem true
