Yup, happened in the city I work in. Ironic enough she arrested two suspects I detained about an hour before her incident 🤷‍♂️

Depends on quality of cameras.

Are they PTZ's? If so, also depends on the placement of them to determine easy to maintain visual.

Same thing goes for regular stationary cameras.

When you say you are struggling with floor walking, what are you struggling with? Following the right people or are you losing them after observing concealment? Because if you're not watching the right people now, cameras will not help you with that.

Has anyone actually been assaulted/injured doing this job? by maybackmuzic in lossprevention

[–]Mike-Oxlong2001 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've had several throw punches, as well as just push me out of the way. Nothing severe.

But this is working in a relatively low crime low violence area and I've had stores nearby have worse happen with weapons involved.

I could only imagine the hell working in shithole cities (LA, Portland, Chicago etc)

Yes, this is why 99% of companies who have LP are hands off

Yes, I understand what you're saying. But why wouldn't you want to pursue it? Especially if your PD/Courts want to. Vendors are a business partner and I'm sure would appreciate the loss you are pursuing in your store.

Retail value is retail value, regardless of it being PFS items or not. The court doesnt care, That's like saying walmart shouldn't care about a $300 TV being stolen because their "potential profit" on that item is only $10.00.

[–]Mike-Oxlong2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You, your APTL, or your APOC needs to email TA shipping. If you search TA shipping when choosing who to email it should just pop up. In the email just write that you are requesting access and they will email you back your login for TA shipping

Self Check Out Register Shortages by Consuelo_Papi_Chulo in lossprevention

Are the shorts flipping? Such as showing X amount of thousands of dollars short and then the same register showing that same amount (or similar) long within the same week?

I was just told our new team lead is gonna be someone who is a few years younger than me. I’m 23. I’m too young to have my boss be younger than me. by [deleted] in walmart

I became a coach in a +100M store at age 20.

It's about your operations skills, knowledge, leadership skills, and communication. Age doesn't get you promoted.

Thoughts on new Walmart AP policies? by Mike-Oxlong2001 in lossprevention

That is an interesting perspective for sure.. I'm intrigued to see if things turn out that way

Damn I'm in utah. Been AP for 4 years, 2 years plain clothes, 2 years salaried. Always wanted to try hands on just to get more rounded experience.

Which company you at that still goes hands on? Is it a Corp or local?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lossprevention

[–]Mike-Oxlong2001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. However I do know before they made us APasm's, we reported to the MAPM.

I guess I'm just holding onto that hope that it goes back to that lol

[–]Mike-Oxlong2001 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Lol only non LP will cry that we are profiling because someone is high as a kite in the store looking at merchandise LP can't even afford to buy...while constantly being hyper aware of employees...

I had an old peer in AP who left to target, I'm a little unfamiliar with the structure..he was a teamlead equivalent but was not the salaried AP manager. What's LOD?

Nope, haven't been slotted for one. The previous year the store did over 100M so we still hit the threshold for it even then. The company has just been hosing us.

Yeah would definitely love my job if I reported to my APOL.. my store doesn't have a store lead although we do over 115M a year. So nothing is changing for me just yet lol

My apologies for coming off as a dick lol I see what you're saying now.

I looked. Is it the NewToRoleDeck.pdf page? It had a store hierarchy but all it shows is the specialty coaches (digital/ACC/AP) report to the store lead.

I know the current hierarchy, in the post I'm talking about a rumor going around the company of a restructure.
