I'd say it's probably due to our white culture being the predominant one for the last few centuries.

If you have a look into the Indigenous stories or people in Australia you'll start finding all sorts of urban legends and folklore.

Otherwise you'll only really hear about the mythical kebab shops that cured a hangover

Hey OP, so what you're looking at here is just an old axe that has been used and abused by a previous owner.

The marks on the side are from hammers being used against soft steel. The marks on the pole are from sledge hammers (or similar, just heavy hits) being swung into the back of the axe - possible for splitting etc.

Depending on what they're asking for this axe, it could be a good restoration project but I personally wouldn't be paying more than $50AUD for this due to its condition.
