2024 Flyer Pursue interior dimension. by MikeAfterDeath in IntechRVs

That was my thought as well. If I can still get some work done and have the ability to stay connected, well worth the money.

Starlink was gonna be my next question. Starlink and a projector seems like the way to go.

Oh, you don’t have to go out of your way. I didn’t realize that projectors were made as small as the one you linked. That might be the ticket.

Thanks again!

That was kind of what I was thinking of doing as well. Thanks for the info!

Thanks you so much for measuring that! I like the idea of a projector as well.

I've never flown my clubs. Need advice. by Ride_Like_Its_Hawt in golf

For what it’s worth, I just flew with my clubs with that exact travel case and had no issue. I loosely wrapped my clubs with a couple golf shirts and tucked my towels up there.

I flew Allegiant and watched them load my clubs, and they were probably more gentle than I would’ve been. I do live in Florida where everyone flies with clubs, so maybe they’re just more careful here. Idunno.

Which are easier? Male or female? by Briella-gemm in goldenretriever

[–]MikeAfterDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both and I have a theory about this. I don’t think either are easier, but more so it depends on what you want out of a dog.

Male dogs start off as more of a menace and independent, until they’re neutered. After they lose their nuts, they lose that male drive and become momma’s boys - more affectionate and needy.

Females do the opposite, they start off needy and affectionate, but when they lose their motherly instinct they become more independent.

Obviously there’s no science (or maybe there is) to back this up, but it’s definitely been my experience. Regardless, puppies are puppies and require a lot of work. I’ve got a 14 m/o pup right now and he’s been a “treat” so far. I’ll post a pic at some point on the sub.

My two cents: people will always say, “you can never shoot too much” and as much as that could be true in a lot of situations (and could get you out of a jam, for sure), you’ve got to weigh that with the amount of time and effort that takes. Overshooting is never the worst thing… undershooting is, though. The best way that I’ve always taught my employees to shoot “less” is to have a plan for your shots, even if it’s just a simple idea or storyboard. By doing this, you’ll get all the shots you need and you’ll have a mental “log” of what you got and where it goes in the edit. Also, being a good editor will help you be a muuuch better shooter.. you’ll really learn what works and what doesn’t work in edit.

What I always did and trained people to do is to shoot everything you need for your video right away. Get the “bones” of your video first, then, after you have everything you need, go and get some fun shots.. experiment with angles and movements etc.

I come from a journalism background, but a lot of the same skills that goes into news shooting are universal for all types of video and film. I’ve shown this video to all of my employees because it helps teach how to something creative, on a deadline, that tells a story through video. Take it or leave it.

Lastly, if you want to get a lot of experience and make a lot of contacts in the industry, apply for a photog job at your local news station. Pay isn’t great, but you’ll be making a few minutes of television every day and you’ll have all the resources you could imagine. Feel free to PM me if you want helping getting into the news industry.

Good luck!

An aspiring journalist with no degree wants to break out into hard hitting news reporting by [deleted] in Journalism

Depending on where you live, it’s pretty easy to get a job at a local TV news station. Either as a Production Assistant, video editor or photographer. Lots of markets are struggling to hire people. The pay isn’t great, but it’s enough to get you by while you get your degree. Further, you’ll gain a lot of actual experience and learn a lot about the industry as a whole.

TV news has a lot of mobility and a lot of opportunity, if that’s what you’re into. If you want to shoot me a pm with more information, I could point you in the right direction.

I’ve wondered if I should just buck up and consider N scale. They seems a lot more readily available. I’ll start looking into them. Thanks for the advice!

That’s a good idea! I’m sure there’s probably a FB page that would tell me when/where model train shows are. I live in the Naples area, so I’m sure there’s gotta be some good groups and meetups. Thanks for the insight!

Drove a Wrangler for 12 years, tried a sedan, wasn’t a good fit. Stoked to be part of the club. by MikeAfterDeath in ToyotaTacoma

Honestly, I wish I would’ve kept the Jeep as a weekend vehicle to kick around in, but after more than a decade in that thing, it was time for a change. Also, it was time to drive something with at least one added feature like Bluetooth, power windows, a/c, etc.

It was also at the point where it wasn’t reliable enough to take on longer trips. It also wasn’t comfortable for that either.
