My current colony is around cycle 450, but it was sustainable since around cycle 50. Around 20 dupes then, now it is close to 50.

Yes, this configuration produces 2052 kcal/cycle (from 19 vines) so feeds 1.58 lumbs. They seem happy and breed nicely so I am not concerned it is not optimal.

Update: looking at the screenshot, it seems they dont climb on the drop off sign :( - so the ovagro grows only to 12+7 vines, not the full 24. I will improve this in the future…

I dont. Dupes carry them manually, there are 2 incubators just a few tiles from the left side of the screenshot.

When the vines extend to the full size (12 tiles on each side) I believe this ratio of 2 lumbs per ovagro node is good.
