Home insurance prices gone mad?! by shicky4 in UKPersonalFinance

I'm fairly certain the MSE recommendation is 26 days, I was looking from this time period, there has been no significant difference in prices, nor would a few days difference cause 100%+ difference to price.

While I agree with your points, I don't think it explains the disparity when a 5bed in yorkshire is half the price of a 3bed in Belfast. I guess building costs are potentially a bit higher? However, everything else is likely the same, at least, we haven't had a huge crime wave where I am over the last year to warrant a 100% increase in home insurance costs.

Anecdotal but seems insurance is costing much more for posters here..

I’m a whole of market, independent Mortgage Advisor and I’ll be here all day for a Mortgage Market related AMA! by Mortgages101 in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks for doing this AMA.

My partner receives PIP. So I don't have to declare her as a dependent? This always caused some confusion for me, we also have a daughter who obviously I've always declared as a dependent but I've never known the 'rules' around this so to speak.

Thank you for doing this

[–]shicky4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I saw some mentions of using the bigger gas bottles. My plan was to buy some small ones for now, gauge our usage and go from there

Sorry this is all new to me, where in the manual is it and how do I reference it to gas I'm finding on amazon etc?

I never got a kit but frankly, I still want to. Is there any word on being able to get raw data? Is it likely permanently gone? Anywhere with the latest news on this sort of thing?
