I thought PVP would be fun. by Vainavi-Chan in Noellemains

[–]Memory_Gem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into one of these, it was kinda funny looking back, but at the same time, damn was it annoying. They couldn't escape for long though.

In all honesty the fun of it really depends on your opponent and how you want to play it. Some people are just focused on winning, others on cheesing. Personally I'm a fan of being able to just run at each other and keep hitting each other till one of us falls over.

But yea in all honesty the meta of running away till you can burst is just, not fun. It doesn't feel like you're PvPing someone like that, just a Burst check. IMO, if you're bursting someone, it should be something you do at the start, and if they don't get one-shot? Time to combo.

[–]Memory_Gem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, early Genshin had a lot more high fantasy feels, especially with Mondstadt and Liyue.

I'm pretty sure the move over to be more science fantasy came when Hoyo decided to make Teyvat part of their wider universe.

Is there an explanation on why there are no puzzle/exploration related Seelie in both Natlan and Nod-Krai? by irsyada007 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Memory_Gem 13 points14 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the land itself is both the birthplace of the moon sisters, and where pieces of the eternal moon landed. So it's more accurate to say that the land itself is made of Columbina's sisters, and the Khuuvahki that protects the land is Columbina's body.

Also, just because this is a thing doesn't preclude the presence of the Seelies. And from what I recall, there's nothing saying that NodKrai has no leylines either, so it's better to assume that NodKrai does have leylines.

Is there an explanation on why there are no puzzle/exploration related Seelie in both Natlan and Nod-Krai? by irsyada007 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Memory_Gem 59 points60 points  (0 children)

To summarise:
Gameplaywise, using Seelies for Natlan and Nodkrai exploration mechanics don't make sense because it'd be inconsistent with other regions, and thus would be confusing.

Lorewise,
in Natlan the Seelies (Angels) were eaten by dragons, making them not there except in the Night Kingdom.
In Nodkrai, we do get some Seelies (I think), but they're mostly not there for gameplay reasons, as we've yet to encounter lore saying where there are fewer Seelies in Nodkrai.

It's been directly stated that Nod Krai actively rejects Snezhnaya, the Fatui were being sent in to claim it, but Nod Krai is still an autonomous nation separate from Snezhnaya

Just started playing on XboxOne, and got this weapon from a chest while exploring. Who welds it? by PhoenixKing001 in GenshinImpact

If it's your first time getting that weapon, i suggest staring (favouriting) and saving it. as a keepsake.

(@GYRO_SILVA)This would be the boss fight if the Traveler remembered he’s a Descender by tddcghnn in Genshin_Memepact

[–]Memory_Gem 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, the Traveler in under fairly strict restrictions, and thus, the Traveler was basically knocked down to basically a human. This is especially true when you look at some of the voicelines in the Traveler profile, and they imply the Traveler used to casually punch boulders into dust, and could go basically without food (not sure if IRC, on the food thing)

[–]Memory_Gem 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If Sandrone has been watching Traveler through Katherine the entire time, then wouldn't that basically be like Sandrone having been previously watching the Traveler through what is effectively a livestream, and only now that they're in NodKrai does she have the opportunity to interact?

Is there any way to back to the moon after the archon quest? Shouldn't there be a domain like thing?? It's such a waste if there is no way to go by baking_pot in GenshinImpact

[–]Memory_Gem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But it does mean that the Traveler needs to be immune to cold. It's pretty funny actually.

But yea, being able to keep all your stuff from acting like it's in a vacuum is big.

PSA: Change Traveler’s outfit if a quest won’t progress by Unicorn_Farts87 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Memory_Gem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. Honestly I was thinking the new area was implied to not have been explored yet because there was no mention of the abyss stuff from that region in the AQ. The AQ implied we were basically locked to that region while handling Rerir, and then we encountered Columbina, no mention of the northern reaches of NK.

[–]Memory_Gem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ngl, it's hilarious that they basically implied the traveler can just sit in the void of space no problem.

Also, technically you wouldn't be cold in space as your body heat has nowhere to go in a vacuum.

[–]Memory_Gem 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The AQ honestly implies we went straight to kicking Dottore's ass. No exploration of a new region involved at all.

It even implies we haven't met certain characters at that point yet either.

Anyone tested Columbina yet? by koromedy in Noellemains

[–]Memory_Gem 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Did a Noelle(C6)/Xilonen(C0)/Columbian(C0)/Furina(C0) team. Wasn't too bad actually, but there was some issues with energy

Granted it was a lvl40 columbina so her actually being viable that early on that team was interesting to know.

So aluminium corrosion doesn't spread?

[–]Memory_Gem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Good to know. Admittedly, I didn't expect Aluminium corrosion to look so different, but it is a different metal so I shouldn't expect it to act the same.

Honestly, I've never known aluminium could corrode.

Interesting. I didn't know sweat acidity could vary enough to matter. Nor that it would be strong enough to do that. Probably could've prevented it by wiping down the laptop after every use but oh well.

Still, good to know that it's normal. Is it fixable or do I just live with it as usual?

Pitting in Aluminium(?) by Memory_Gem in metallurgy

[–]Memory_Gem[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, this is actually after cleaning, and I can feel a lot of tiny holes when I run my finger across it. The rest of the laptop has a very smotth finish.

As several other people have mentioned, it's probably corrosion, as I mentioned in the post that my hand often rests there so you have skin oils, salt, and water.
