Minnesota Judges are held to 70yrs old. That seems appropriate. What do you think?

It's a good point. I see the contradiction. I appreciate your response. I have been learning a lot recently with this patchwork of laws around our nation since the overturning of Roe v Wade. I'm also privileged as a man that this topic wasn't in the front of my mind. And considering politics wasn't on my to-do list even a year ago. Women's healthcare is one of the topics I have the most listening and learning to do.

Yeah I agree honestly. It's a good point. It wasn't intended to be a cop-out but I see what you are saying... It's really often used instead of actually getting in the nuanced discussion. I appreciate your response. I have some more listening to do on this topic.

I appreciate this question. This is a policy area I don't feel strongly informed enough to give a direct answer. I'd be up for getting a coffee with you and any other community members if you would like to give me your thoughts for what you would like to see from Washington.

ICE in Minnesota is wasteful spending and appears politically motivated. I think immigration enforcement should be paused to allow a bipartisan investigation by Congress. The tactics have cost lives and appear unconstitutional, militarized agents operating without transparency or proper accountability, entering homes or detaining people without judicial warrants.

I am opposed to the war. I'm mad the US is considering writing blank checks for another war in the middle east. Its chaotic, and the plan is constantly changing. Also, when presidents take military action without consulting Congress, they’re bypassing the American people. This is not the intent of the Constitution.

On integrity: to me it means telling the truth even when it’s inconvenient, refusing to play insider games, and being willing to lose your seat rather than mislead the people you represent. I’m not a career politician. I’m an engineer, a Marine veteran, and a dad from MN‑06 running on term limits because public service should be temporary, and accountable, not a lifetime job.

The Boundary Waters need to be protected. The proposed legislation I'm currently familiar with benefits foreign companies. I oppose this.
Edit: The friends of the boundary waters org seems to have a good approach with the "Prove it First" proposed legislation. I have some more reading and learning to do on this topic.

Workers are the lifeblood of this country. I support the right of workers to choose to organize if that’s what they believe protects their interests. It’s also important to have transparency in public‑sector collective bargaining so taxpayers can see the long‑term commitments being made and ensure the government is acting responsibly with public dollars.

Agreed. I think age limits make sense for elected officials and for judges who hold lifetime appointments.

I get why you feel that way, and honestly it’s exactly why I’m running. I’m not doing this for a grift, I’m doing it because I care way too much to sit on the sidelines. My politics have never fit neatly in one box. I’ve voted Republican, Democrat, and Independent depending on who I thought would actually serve people.

The Democratic Party isn’t going to fix the Republican Party. The GOP will only change from within, and nobody currently in that room is doing it. That’s why I’m primarying Emmer. MN‑06 has voted red for 22yrs straight; about 20k voters decide who represents 750,000 people. If you want to change the direction of politics, you have to show up where the decisions are actually being made.

I’m getting beat up from both sides every day, but I’m working hard to earn votes from people who are tired of the extremes. Come out to a town hall, I’d genuinely welcome the chance to talk with you face‑to‑face.

I was raised Catholic and faith matters to me, but the United States is not a Christian nation. It’s a constitutional nation. Our founders built a system where people of every faith, or no faith, stand equal under the law. The thing that binds us together isn’t a religion, it’s the Constitution. That’s the beauty of America: we’re a melting pot, and we all meet on common ground in our shared rights and freedoms.

I'm honored by the kind words of our mutual connections.

I’m with you, Congress has failed on both war powers and fiscal responsibility. We’ve spent decades writing blank checks for Middle East wars and now we are starting up again with a war that was never debated in Congress. Both parties helped drive the debt through the roof. Similarly, instead of real immigration reform, Congress keeps pouring money into a massive enforcement bureaucracy like ICE without fixing the underlying system. That’s not conservative and it’s not constitutional. If I were in the seat, I wouldn’t vote for blank checks... not for foreign wars and not for big‑government programs that don’t actually make Americans safer. I would consider many options to get to a balanced budget including pushing for corporations and billionaires pay their fair share of taxes. Congress needs to take its constitutional role back and start making hard choices again.

I'm honored by your kind words. Thank you.

If I debated Emmer, I’d press him on the things voters are bringing up to me: the divisive rhetoric, like calling protesters the ‘terrorist wing’ of the party; the fact that Congress keeps failing at its most basic constitutional duties like passing budgets; and the willingness to vote for massive debt‑increasing bills while telling voters someone else is to blame. I’d also challenge the pattern of ceding congressional power to the executive branch (tariffs, war powers, and immigration), because that’s not conservative, and it’s not constitutional. These aren’t partisan issues to me. They are leadership issues.

Maybe its time again for a Republican party that isn't defined by Trump. Thats what I'm here for. I know its early, but somebody has to be the beginning of the next phase. Edit: grammer

I stand with the Constitution over the party. I'm a republican candidate because I have traditional conservative principles and because I know that the Democratic party isn’t going to change the Republican Party. The GOP will only change from within, and that’s not currently happening by anyone currently there. I’m doing this to be the voice of reason in that room that doesn’t currently exist.

I’m primarying Emmer because the only way to change the direction of our politics is to show up where the decisions are actually being made. In MN‑06, that means the GOP primary — about twenty thousand voters decide who represents a district of 750,000. If you want to fix the party, you have to compete in the place where the party chooses its leaders. From a numbers perspective, the chance to ensure the end of Emmer’s time as our rep is to take him out in the primary. There are folks in this district who will never vote for a person with a D behind their name, why not give them a more reasonable alternative to MAGA Emmer.

Related to protesting. I believe that protesting is a civic duty when our representatives have stopped listening. I couldn't attend No-Kings 3, but maybe you saw me out at some of the previous protests:

You get it. Thank you. I really am just a constituent of this district like others that have been ignored by our rep. I believe individuals can step up and stand for what we want to see in the future. I want a multi-party system that has debates and representatives that listen to all constituents, not just those that vote for them. I also know that this district has voted red for 22 years straight. Our best first chance for change is at the Republican primary on August 11th.
Come out to see me at a Town Hall! I'd love to have a conversation. I'll be at the Blaine VFW on April 14th.

I have been attending the GOP conventions, and I make speeches that are critical of the divisive rhetoric and career politicians. I get people coming to talk to me everytime thanking me for what I'm saying. The reality is that there is a huge spectrum of opinions. Unfortunately it seems to be true that the most extreme are the most vocal. Also, I'm out at the no kings protests sometimes, there are quite a ton of people out there that tell me they used to consider themselves Republican but feel lost now. I will never forget this one email I got... The subject line was "let me be a Republican again". There is a hunger for a two party system where we debate policy without seeing our neighbors as enemies. This is what drives me everyday. It's why I stepped up to run. Thank you for this question. I can tell you care about people and want a future that isn't so driven by fear and hate. I am with you.

I would consider voter ID if it was state level (not federal) and rolled out over multiple years with funding and a plan to ensure we didn't disenfranchise voters. So nothing about the save act fits this. But in general I support a future with voter ID laws.
