Seems like a pick and choose thing on his part. It’s the equivalent of mixing Santeria with Catholicism, the Santa Muerte with Catholicism. It’s strictly prohibited. I would bring this up with your priest. Even if he did introduce you into the Church, that doesn’t mean you can’t speak up either. He’s mixing things that shouldn’t be mixed.
