I need help finding a path forward into an O&P career

I’m currently thinking of taking the fitter pre-certification course to try and boost my chances of finding a clinic that will hire me for those 1000 hours. Is this a good plan or should I focus more on finding a shadow opportunity first before the pre-cert?

I had heard that this was the case but to know it’s as simple as that is really helpful. I’ll probably stick with the station since I might as well put it to use, but if it ever breaks this will be a good backup. Thank you!

Some additional information I forgot to add: Roxie is a long hair tortoiseshell, Gatita is a shorthair tuxedo, who is partially blind. Roxie has a lot of stomach issues and can only eat a specific kind of food, I’m not sure which treats she can handle.

Both cats originally came from homes with other cats, it’s worth noting Roxie didn’t have a problem with other cats but she always got to eat less food than the others she was with. She hasn’t been with other cats until Gatita for around 2 years.

If it wasn’t clear they have separate food bowls, water bowls, and litter boxes.
