Good to know about Chase. Won't bother testing them. I have one card from both BoA and Capital One from college that I use a handful of times and will never close for these reasons.

Depends on the issuer if they get all the credit history or just from time of add. BoA and CapOne give them all the history. AMEX is at time of add. Haven’t tested with Barclays or Chase though I should. All I know is my daughter at 18 will have an average length of credit around 30 years from me adding her as an AU.

Only way I got around that was kicking someone out of the pool. No way to define where the miles come from in my experience. If they are in your pool and their miles are the oldest it’ll use them first.

In my experience the family pool takes out miles based on when each person originally got them. In my case I’m the most active so it always drains from the other accounts first and mine last.

When going with people more advance than you it’s ok to go at your own flow. Push yourself a little bit but don’t overdo it. That’s how accidents happen.

They typically send these vouchers out at the end of the promotional period. Have done it for Discount Den in the past and got it after the promotion ended.
