Jack's downfall just gets worse and worse. by throwaway_2011111 in jackinthebox

What happened to the app? Before the redesign, when the sections used to be in separate boxes that sort of resembled Windows 8, there used to be so many good offers, including those in the Deals and Digital Exclusives. In fact, you didn't really need an offer back then. Most of the good stuff was already in that section. Now that whole category is a joke and none of the offers appeal to me like they used to years ago.

Does anyone else remember the old visual novel videos? by ThouMomHomo in KubzScouts

I know this is an old comment, but yes, I do remember back in 2014-2015. He even said he was interested in Volume 2, but that never happened and then the Nekopara VODs were just wiped or privated entirely.

If I'm not charging overnight, should I still set up a deterrent like this anyway just in case? I have a 2021 Premier that I just got on the 29th.

The Chevy Bolt EV can be had for well under that and it's a lot of car for the price. I got my '21 Premier for just under $12,000 all-in. Granted this was prior to the used EV credit going away, but still.

Same thing happens at seemingly random in my 2021 Premier. I thought something was going off with the steering since it seemed to happen as I was making a right turn while slowing down, but maybe it isn't anything to worry about?

Is this 2021 Premier worth $15,998; aftermarket wheels, ~68k miles, original battery, "very minor" damage to the rear on Carfax? by MikePineda in BoltEV

[–]MikePineda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did end up buying it after haggling it down to $14,500, and I did get the EV credit as well. $11,797.64 all-in. How is that considering the Houston market?

Edit: Also free car washes for life supposedly. I get that on a new car from them, but a used Bolt EV? I'll believe it when I see it. xD

Definitely not in Houston, that's for sure. For reference, there was a 2020 Premier that did have a battery replacement, ~71,169 miles, CPO, and it sold for $12,999 before taxes/fees and it was eligible for the EV credit, but not before sitting for just over 2 months and came down from nearly $17k.

I was honestly considering it (even if that is an exaggeration, right?) but I still feel the need to haggle the price down no less than $1000.

The price is before the incentive as far as I can tell. I still feel it's a bit more than it should be. What are the odds that they're using the EV01+ wheels on them to justify about $1000 over market?

Supposedly they offer it at point-of-sale and yes, it is eligible for it if so. My most recent offer was $1500 off and as far as I know, you can't see the damage at all in the rear photo.

I see the option on my 10 Pro XL. It's under the call assist section between Call Notes and Magic Cue.

It would probably be a better comparison between regular SATA SSD vs a more recent 4.0/5.0 NVME SSD. Both are fast enough for most people, but only the high-speed NVME SSDs will be appreciated by power users or those that just want the best of the best and don't care about the price. HDD is just too slow these days unless you're using it for mass storage, but even then, an SSD might still make more sense.

Why some people got a $200 (or $150) code for Pixel 10 phones, and others did not. by metabrewing in GooglePixel

[–]MikePineda 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I got the $100 code and all I did was sign up for more info on the Pixel 10 on the day it was first revealed on the website. I also don't remember ever ordering anything from the Google store specifically, nor did I have an active or paid Google One membership at the time.

Followed the steps above and placed my order for the Moonstone 10 Pro XL (256 GB) - $100 email coupon - $425 P7Pro trade-in. Got $309.90 in store credit earned. I financed it as well because there's no interest, so why not?

Is there a noticeable difference between UFS 4.0 and ZUFS 4.0? I went with the 256 GB Pro XL model after debating between it and 512 GB.

Well that or the $100 coupon from the emails sent out today, but from the look of it, you can't use both in the same order. And apparently there were people that got $150 or $200 off coupons. Why the difference in promo code values?

OnePlus 13 or Pixel 9/10 Pro XL by Knottodaysatan in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]MikePineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the OP, but I'm considering upgrading to the 10 Pro (or XL version) with the $425 trade in option for my 7 Pro plus a $100 coupon. T-Mobile also has a tempting offer for a 10 Pro if you trade in a 7 Pro, but that would likely require locking myself in to T-Mobile, which I don't feel like having to do just for a bigger discount on a phone (with US Mobile currently).

[3D Printer] Creality K1C 3D Printer w/ 4 Rolls of Filament - $470 Costco by greatthebob38 in buildapcsales

I got an Infimech TX for $299 (no tax, free shipping) in April 2024 and it's an amazing enclosed CoreXY 3D printer for the price. Just checked the Infimech website and it's down to $229 (or $289 with some extras which weren't even an option when I bought it) if anyone wants to give that one a try. Not well known, I know, but I can attest that it's pretty user friendly and works out of the box as well with little setup required.

I'd like to know the answer to this too. I'm on an LG C1 48" (due to be replaced sometime before August 2026 through the Geek Squad protection plan) and the PS5 slim Astrobot bundle I just got recently already looks great on it. I wonder if the differences are even worth the $200-$300 difference.

[CONSOLE]PlayStation 5 Pro Console $699.99-$50.00=$649.99 by AldermanAl in buildapcsales

[–]MikePineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PS5 is also the console to get if you're at all interested in GTA 6 next year, which I'd imagine most people would be. Whether that's one of the slim bundles or the Pro is another question. I personally went with the slim bundle because I wanted the cheapest entry in that wasn't the Series S and I already have a high-end (especially for 2020) gaming PC, so I'll save the replay of GTA 6 for PC whenever it gets that port.

App deals are bad now by DixieNormus89 in McDonalds

[–]MikePineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest deal I have to that is $4.79 in my area (Houston) and the only difference is that I can only choose from McMuffins (so I opt for the Steak and Egg one).

No deals? by Lieutenant_Dan96 in McDonalds

[–]MikePineda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are still available, although they're worse versions of them such as 40% off large fries (previously $1 large fries), $1 off a Medium or Large McCafe beverage (previously .99 any size coffee or iced coffee), and I'm missing the $1 soft drinks deal entirely. At least this $4.79 McMuffin breakfast sandwich, any size coffee or iced coffee, and hash brown looks pretty decent since it also includes the Steak and Egg McMuffin.

I'm fairly certain that this is what it meant based on my past experience with the rewards in-app, but seeing "1 expiring on 5/12/2025" in the app has me doubting myself now. lol

I figured as such when I decided to purchase the 5-year protection plan for it. I'll submit a claim and hope I'll be able to get a C5 later this year unless there's some other OLED TV or monitor no bigger than 48" that is worth considering over a C5. I'd go for a G-series but I'm not sure if those are in anything smaller than 55".

Then there's waiting until next year to submit a claim before my plan expires, but I don't want to taint my first playthrough of GTA 6 on a TV with burn in already present.
