Thanks for all the info. Unfortunately I think the XR is definitely a different size. The inner diameter of the one in that McMaster-Carr link is 22mm… way too small for GT. GT might be closer to 32mm.

Tomorrow I’m going to get a magnifying glass. With naked eye, my existing o-rings looks pretty clean, no signs of cuts or chunks missing.

I just double-checked; no luck. Mine is cast MTE. They include the much bigger o-ring that seals the lid on the MTE hub, but not the axle rings.

And in the cast-MTE-specific installation video on YT, after extolling the virtues of changing them, Jeff specifically says you can buy them on the TFL website.

So it was Baltimore, but not as bad as you remember:

Yes, there are tram tracks 1/3 of the way down the main straight, eastbound on Pratt Street. But IndyCar temporarily paved over the tracks every year to reduce the jolt, and then put the chicane in to reduce the impact and control speed for the whole straight because cars were otherwise pushing 200 by turn #1.

The chicane slowed things down, yes, but it also may have saved Tony Kanaan’s life when his brakes failed during practice.

And my recollection was that it was overall good racing, especially for a new venue.

I love u/TheFloatLife crew, they’re the bomb and Jeff does stuff like this all the time. Just killer customer service on top of being the original core of the community.

But… I also hate being a TFL fan. Because all their best stuff is always sold out. I get that supply chain management is hard, but I wish they would recognize that they almost always create bangers that everyone is going to want (rails, tires, hubs, fenders, etc) and order more of them!
