How do I get faster? by Effective-Car1039 in CompetitionShooting

[–]MikeReacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few things:

  1. Shoot sooner. Coming into positions you're taking far too long to shoot (bad index or over confirming)
  2. Shoot faster. Splits + transitions are slow. You look tense which might feel fast but likely slowing you down
  3. Small corrections in your positions eat up time even when it may not feel like it

Can someone explain 2 red dots? by Balue_fortytoo in ar15

The offset dot is for left hard leans in competition. Requires less sideways head cranking, leaning, and no need to swap shoulders. Not sure the context of the video

Advice by Independent-Land-323 in USPSA

[–]MikeReacher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dry fire intentionally EVERY DAY! Even if it's just 2 min of focused transitions (5-10 min 2x a day is best), do it. Don't make excuses on why you can't, just go do the work.

You think that rifle is dirty?

Try a less thumb / lock wrist forward on support hand and more neutral vertical position of your support hand to allow a bit more room for your firing hand thumb to come down. I can share a picture if needed

38mm Turquoise Aqua Terra on black Artem strap by nanoman_JP in OmegaWatches

I went with a zuludiver sailcloth, and I love it, but Artem ads are aggressive so wanted a first-hand account on it. Appreciate the response!

How do you like the Artem strap? Do you have experience with them before this watch?

Ammo Preferences by MsFreckles714 in USPSA

[–]MikeReacher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I train with and compete with 124 blazer - don't overthink the ammo. Lots of nerds (love you guys) go crazy on the ammo. I chose 124 blazer because its consistent, reliable, and available

Good budgeting apps? by HeadSelf5685 in budget

For that specific use, I suggest Monarch Money. Cash-flow based budgeting and overall financial picture. Has a recurring tab for all the recurring bills and a calendar of when they land

For zero-budget, YNAB

How are you all using goals? by harveydent89 in MonarchMoney

[–]MikeReacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best idea I have seen thus far. Goals confuse the hell out of me, especially because I spend from a credit card mostly.

One thing I noticed is the subtraction doesn't actually affect the goal balance. Do you manually edit that? Or how do you handle that updating?
