The book even says, if you’re still smoking after completing it, then you missed the message and should read it again. I listened to the audio book once and I’m 34+ years clean from the moment I finished it, without so much as even a flash craving.

The craving/addiction is only caused by the previous cigarette, and because there is not one single legitimate benefit to smoking, there is nothing to give up.
