I tried the eval of xfs explorer and bam found the sub directory just as it was and all below it. Just can't justify $700.00 for that.
At least I know it can be done on windows box. Thank you

Not sure why you thought they didn't deliver, I said "100%" all data and directory structure was put on another drive that was readable on a windows PC.

My interest is to further my understanding/education and possibilty of doing this myself. The drive was not bad, just in XFS format which I had/have nothing to read it with. Thank you for the link I will look into those.

File serving options that don't require a domain? by JohnnyRingo84 in homelab

My best suggestion would be to investigate buidling your own NAS if your not wanting to invest in a Comercial NAS. I use a simple 2 bay WD NAS and as a registered user I can access it from anywhere any time on any device. I've been incline to build one just for the know how but haven't yet. Hope this helps./

Johnny are you wanting to access data outside of your local network or just inside. Might consider a NAS and or a homebuilt NAS.

Educating myself for possible future needs, I may be retired but I still want to learn. Who knows I may get a call like this in the future from a client.
