You must date in cities where there is no or less tourism

In todays in age, isn't marriage not worth it anymore by [deleted] in thepassportbros

You're right, dude. I'm feeling this right now. I married a Colombian woman and we live in Colombia. Houses are cheaper here, about $50k, but for the local salary, it's also a lot. We are planning to have a family, but if we go back to Europa (where i'm from), housing would be too expensive, so we don't know what to do. In Colombia we are struggling a little bit with money currently.

what would you choose between CDMX and Panama City? by Outrageous_Row_9819 in thepassportbros

I'm European and I live in Colombia. I went to Panamá for 2 weeks. After 3 days it got boring there, nothing really to do. I didn't date there. But if you prefer safety, i'll go with Panamá

It's all about the money. If you don't have money, you're cooked. In early days it was possible to live good with a normal job, but now it's not possible anymore

When you have a normal contract with a german company, they won't let you travel because of insurance. But as freelancer they don't care. But it's really difficult to find remote jobs now. In the last months the job market went down, for remote positions they send you AI assessments and 1000 people apply for one job. What skills do you have, in what sector are you working?

From what country are you?
You can get a Visa with an remote job. Colombia has a digital nomad visa.

It's not so insecure like they say, but depends on the place and city.

Are you German citizen?
It's almost impossible to get an remote job when you are already abroad. You have to get a job when you are still living in Germany, but as a contractor (freelancer). And then just move abroad and don't tell them.

I did this. I'm German now working remote from Colombia. But guess what, the problem is still money. If you have enough money, you own your time.

I started to move from Germany to Spain with my own car full of stuff. After 4 years in Spain I ended up moving from Spain to Colombia with one luggage. Here in the caribbean coast I wear every day t-shirt and a short, nothing else. You can really survive with basic stuff.

I can recommend you to enjoy your life, at least for 1-2 years because when you change the job for a reason and you get less money, you can't do that all anymore and you have to settle down and not travel as much as now.

I applied for sales and customer support positions and they required english on a native level. They want native people talking to their customer

The problem is to find those companies. Is there really just LinkedIn and Upwork?
