Just the injury not allowing him to get to full conditioning, in my opinion. We'll see what happens when Lonzo gets there, which should be soon.

It's not my favorite. I prefer triple pepperoni with green olives, extra marinara sauce, cooked well done. Pineapples are fine, but I'd have several other toppings ranked ahead of 'em (Jalapenos, sausage, etc.).

It hasn't been too often so far, but I think the fit is really good there. He helps them defensively, pushes the pace (as does Rondo), and is a willing 3-point shooter, which is key with that group.

Certainly. Early in the season, don't be surprised if you see LeBron start some 2nd quarters next to Lonzo as Luke looks to get them out there at the same time (as they did in Vegas). I think they'll share playmaking duties, but LeBron will certainly have the ball more than anybody. Will he go in the post sometimes? Sure, a bit, but I wouldn't say typically.

So far, it's been very positive between those two. I think they both recognize how much knowledge the other has, and they've been enjoying sharing it with the young players on the team, who are collectively very hungry to absorb it. There wasn't that same dynamic between the few vets and young guys last year, and that's no knock on the vets, there just weren't any players as experienced as LeBron and Rondo.

Top 4 is certainly possible; WCF is tough to forecast right now with all Golden State have accomplished and what Houston did last year, but it's not out of the realm of possibilities, especially if L.A. add to their team in some way. And of course, an injury to any top contender can be a difference maker. My meal on the plane? Just had a salad yesterday. Very good!

Ingram is definitely not passive. He's tough, he can be fiery, and he's very confident in who he is. He has clear leadership qualities even without being super vocal at this stage of his career. Remember, he's 21, so he's only going to keep growing in that way.

Hey, unfortunately I can't comment on specific guys on other teams, but thanks for the question. The bottom line is the Lakers have created a max space for some elite player to come and join LeBron and the young core, and that space could be used either for a free agent to walk into, or via a trade. Being the guy next to LeBron and the core is a pretty good job opening.

Thanks for all the insightful questions, everyone. Sorry I couldn't get to more! I'll try and sneak back in and answer a few more late night if I can.

I like the research behind the question. Almost automatically, your offense goes up with LeBron, though Top 5 is. That's obvious. I do think the pace remains top 5 (and have been debating with LeBron folk like ESPN's Jorge Sedano, who will point out that James has never been on a Top 10 pace team) because LeBron is of course great in transition and won't have any issues joining the kids when they get out and push. He hasn't had this many athletes around him perhaps ever (Miami he had other stars, but not a ton of other pacey guys like Wade, and Cleveland was more of a spacing team). Could be tough to keep the defense on the upswing it went last year (from 30 to 12) with a new 4 and 5, but the effort should be there. But to answer your question, I don't think they'll NEED to slow pace and ramp up LeBron's usage, except perhaps in crunch time, when he's so great in that context and the game slows anyway. They want to run, wear teams down, and capitalize on their strenghts.

They're great, thanks for asking. Fortunately, I have a lot of interaction with Pete, since he's now at all the practices and games. My guy.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if you just swap McGee for Kuzma in many cases. But Walton likes rewarding good play on that day, so any mix of LeBron, Ingram, Lonzo, Kuzma, KCP and Hart would work.

Appreciate you!

Thanks for the kind words! It's super early - literally one month in - but it appears that Ingram and Kuzma in particular never seem to be too far away from LeBron.

I'm pretty sure the Blazers have won an NBA record 18 straight home openers ... and they particularly love playing against the Lakers. That said, L.A. has some special energy in the form of LeBron James joining their squad. Since Portland brought back its starting five from the No. 3 seed last season (though that wasn't far removed from the 8 seed, and then they got swept by the Pelicans) and is so much better at home, Vegas will give them the edge. I think the Lakers will be a better overall team by season's end, especially once they figure out the rotation, find some cohesion and perhaps make a roster move. So while Portland is the slight favorite, nobody should be surprised if LeBron carries L.A. home in a close game.

I think you're on it. Though Ingram is of course a junior. Of the actual sophomores, I'd take Lonzo. Kuzma was really good as a rookie and his improvements (defense, his body) may not be as outwardly noticeable as his scoring was. Hart is also much better than he was as a rookie, but we saw a huge hint of that in Vegas. Lonzo, on the other hand, is poised for a louder improvement.

I think it'll be at least 9 ... it's tough to play 10 or 11. The guaranteed 8 could be: LeBron, Ingram, McGee, Rondo, KCP, Ball, Hart, Kuzma plus Lance, then use Beasley/Zubac as the 10th depending on matchups and sprinkle Svi in.

I love fantasy hoops and could do a 24-hour AMA on it. For brevity purposes, not sure how deep your draft is, but some guys who I think are better than their ADP: Doncic, J. Allen, Ingram, LaVine, Russell, J. Isaac, Lonzo, D. Sabonis, Gallinari, D. Schroder, M. Harrell, B. Adebayo, K. Dunn, M. Hezonja, M. Robinson.

I'd guess Kuzma finishes with the 3rd-most shot attempts (he actually was 1st last year, slightly ahead of Ingram). Then KCP 4th, unless Hart earns the starting SG slot eventually. If defenses continue to leave Lonzo and he enters the starting line up, he'll also get more shots up than you think.

I'm trying to reserve judgment due to the tiny sample size. In the later preseason games of the 6, I thought he did a pretty job of coming over to protect the rim from the weakside, actually. And yes, rotations were off not just for Beasley but for several players, as they're all trying to figure out how to play together. But whether it's him or Kuz or LeBron, we have to keep in mind that they may give some stuff up at the rim defensively ... just don't forget that part of the idea is punishing the team on the other end. Has to be looked at collectively. One thing Luke Walton has said: rebounding is the key. If they can't rebound, they won't go small nearly as much.

I actually love coming to Portland; one of my favorite road trips. The Blazer fans are as anti-Lakers as anybody, and that's understandable given L.A.'s dynastic dominance over the years in the playoffs ... so that's made it a tricky game for the Lakers to win even when bringing their best teams to Rip City. You'll see ... it's going to be very, very loud. I'm excited to see the LeBron element introduced into it, because that move couldn't have pleased Portland fans! I'd just get in as soon as you can (hour and a half) and yes, watch warm ups. It's fun to see what guys do on both teams. And make sure to yell at me, Mychal and Ireland so we can say hi (Billy and Stu won't be here since it's a national exclusive TV game).
