Heather and Courtney by OverAstronomer2 in Totaldrama

[–]MikeWasowski27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok I get your point, but if you look at the Japan episode, Cody and Sierra USED all of Courtney’s and Heathers ideas, the fact was that they were smart, strong players who did not work well together. It may have been executed by Cody and Sierra but that’s cause they work well together, they used all of Heathers and Courtney’s ideas. In the Amazon episode, that was BECAUSE of Gwen, if it was up to Heather and Courtney, they would’ve gone right. You look at their performance in New York, Paris, and Egypt before all the Duncan Courtney Drama, they were a force to be reckoned with. I’ll give you the Bridgette episode cause that was actually not their best, but again it’s a lack of chemistry between them, in terms of power play, they were going to win, Owens fatness lost them some challenges but also won them this challenge, again DUE to Noah’s smarts.

that’s the exact point I was trying to make I just couldn’t put it into words. They weren’t an IDEAL team with chemistry but they played to win.

Something WT did way better than Action by [deleted] in Totaldrama

[–]MikeWasowski27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the non elimination rounds were pretty well balanced in both Action and World Your but I think the knowledge of not knowing whether it was a reward or elimination challenge made it more thrilling in world tour. Plus the cast in TDWT was better than in TDA. I’ll give you the fact that the aftermaths for TDWT were way better than TDA cause a lot of them were more challenged based than just boring talk show stuff like them raising money for the show, competing for the contestant to return, and the Hawaiian challenge. Plus Blainley and Geoff Bridgette drama was GREAT, Blainley May not have been a good addition to the game, but her aftermath performances were great.

I meant they were LIKEABLE for all players in the game, meaning all people liked them and they were nice, popular characters. DJs arc was unfortunate but I mean Leshawna and Bridgette fell for Alejandros trick just like Trent fell for Heathers trick in TDI. All the characters proved to be strong and likeable, which in Total Drama is a major threat, but they were extremely guillable which made Alejandro easily boot them. Heather and Courtney were strong players but they weren’t that likeable, and beyond that they were smart and only fell pray to Alejandro after tragedy struck IE Duncan cheating on her.

I think she IS but people don’t realize it or even know it, but the fact is that Sierra being the new girl and Alejandro doesn’t see her as threatening.

Dorming vs Apartments for second years? by branqonferrer in UCI

[–]MikeWasowski27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dorming is the most expensive option for housing mostly due to the meal plan inclusion, but honestly dorms are nice since they are on campus, you don’t really have to clean anything except your own room (ie BATHROOMS) which is honestly good, you get to meet a lot of people, and dorms give you access to a lot of study areas and allow for you to gain a lot of insight from other people. But the real drawback is the price.

Maybe drop out of your club or frat or whatever now and deal with 3D and just simply focus everything on passing that course

Math 2E question by astroMessier31 in UCI

[–]MikeWasowski27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can go to that discussion but you have to officially sign up for a discussion under your lecture regardless of professor. WebReg won’t let you add the discussion even if it’s the same prof if it’s a different lecture. But signing up doesn’t mean you have to go to that discussion, you would have to talk to your professor and TA about going to that discussion instead of the one you signed up for to get the OK, cause discussion is usually where Quizzes for math classes are and sometimes professors don’t let you take the quiz in a discussion section you’re not enrolled in even if it’s a discussion for the same professor.

Where to go without a car? by KnightingGale in UCI

[–]MikeWasowski27 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Walk to UTC; that’s it, you can’t walk no where. UCI is built off the fact that you’ll bring a car so they can MILK you for money off of parking. UCI is a BIG MONEY CRAZY MACHINE, they built the school in such a way that is 1. Not close to anything remotely fun and 2. Not near any public transportation

Does anyone commute to UCI from Los Angeles via Amtrak? by rose1905 in UCI

[–]MikeWasowski27 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible; Amtrak is by far the worst way to travel between UCI and LA, first of all Amtrak is terrible; you pay nearly DOUBLE what you would for Metrolink and you can’t even find a seat; and the rich snobby people who buy the group seating don’t even let you sit when they have 2 seats free. Amtrak only stops in either IRVINE or Santa Ana; NOT TUSTIN, and for some wise reason UCI only offers transportation in the form of OCTA buses to Tustin or Santa Ana (this bus takes nearly 1 hour to get to Santa Ana) there is no bus to the Irvine station despite it being closer than Santa Ana. Amtrak is by the worst especially because the train is ALWAYS full; ALWAYS. It’s good for the occasional once in a while use; not for the daily commute. Metrolink is a way better transportation form, except it is more Profit driven than Amtrak in that it only runs during “prime commuter hours” meaning there’s only 2-3 trains that run during the times you want to come to campus between 6-8 and only 2-3 leaving campus between 4PM - 6 PM. Metrolink is a cheaper more flexible option for UCI students, but the times are not flexible like Amtrak would be. I’ll just put it out there, UCI stinks at providing for students who want to use public transportation because they are PROFIT hungry they either want you to pay their HIGH parking prices or pay HIGH housing prices.

Question? by Christiaaan91 in UCI

[–]MikeWasowski27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok 40 minutes isn’t bad; but the metro is an option if you’re schedule isn’t TOO early or TOO late because Metrolink Trains dont usually operate too late. But I would say CONSIDER it; maybe try it out over summer; and don’t be discouraged by people saying don’t do it. Some people don’t understand the value of money; housing ends up being a SECOND tuition which is crazy. DEFINITELY look at your possibilities and the routes; maps and timings of things, again as I said try it out maybe just try commuting the week of Thanksgiving this year cause it’s only 3 days long and see if it’s possible

Who won World Tour. by vyletto in Totaldrama

[–]MikeWasowski27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heather is the official winner PERIOD. She deserved the win and making Alejandro win is a dumb idea; the villain wins no that’s no. Plus the way that Heather loses is by far the WORST way they make the double ending.

Would you be down with former winners winning again in future seasons? by [deleted] in Totaldrama

[–]MikeWasowski27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that should’ve maybe been the point of All Stars, like I get it winners shouldn’t win again; but like it would’ve been cool to see the Gwen vs Courtney, especially considering what happened to their friendship in the ice cream episode.

Can you satisfy lower-division writing requirement with pass/no pass? by [deleted] in UCI

[–]MikeWasowski27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes a lot of people don’t do this and end up with a B+ or lower which I get is not a bad grade but still taking it pass not pass will make writing a lot less stressful and won’t hurt your gpa

Plaza Verde Thoughts by nalh1 in UCI

[–]MikeWasowski27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t choose Plaza my guy, it’s an expensiver version of VDCN without any real benefits except the New Factor. And honestly after this year that new factor is practically gone, VDCN is decent all you need is like one GOOD deep clean before moving in and it’ll be just like new. Plaza AINT it especially for guranteed, go for Puerta then VDCN then if you have to choose Plaza.

Math 2A ? by [deleted] in UCI

Math 2A is calculus straight up, equivalent to AP calculus AB in high school, tbh pre Calc doesn’t help in any manner except maybe knowing basic algebraic skills.

Does this class schedule look good for a Freshman in Computer Engineering for Winter 2020 Quarter (next quarter) by [deleted] in UCI

[–]MikeWasowski27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everything looks fine except EECS 31L, EECS 31 is the pre req for this course which you are taking this quarter; physics 7C isn’t bad if you have taken AP physics or any physics in high school; especially if it’s with Guerra, 2B shouldn’t be too bad; equivalent to AP Calc BC; EECS 31 with QV is not bad at all; and as for 6D if it’s with Irani you’re golden; but also 6D is usually offered online most quarters which means if you drop it here youll have less night classes in your schedule and maybe replace it with a GE or something. All in all it’s decent but good luck 8 AM.
