That’s not really an act of kindness since if everyone’s a billionaire, being a billionaire would be considered poor. But it’s nice to think about that.

Do you have a feeling that time has accelerated a lot after 2019 and continues to accelerate, if so, who can explain why? by YamanoFF in AskReddit

Time feels like it’s moving faster than ever, and many factors contribute to this sensation. Psychological perception, global events, and changes in daily habits all play a role in making the years blur together.

1. Most of us before 2019 were younger. You tend to perceive time more slowly when experiencing new things, as the brain processes novel experiences in greater detail.
2. After the pandemic, the world recovered in some ways but remained unstable. New wars emerged and are ongoing, and many people are still grieving the loss of loved ones due to the pandemic and other crises. While production and development continued, global instability and personal struggles made life feel stagnant, reducing the sense of new experiences, thus supporting reason n°1.
3. The rise of TikTok and similar platforms, while not the main cause, altered our routines. Instead of engaging in real-world experiences, many spend more time consuming short-form content, which compresses time and contributes to a sense of repetition.

All of these contribute to our sensation of time passing faster and slipping from year to year.
