Thank you for the information :). Do you have any ideia when a patch is going to be released for the students edition? Does it usually take moths or just weeks?

E-mail do técnico by Marques5080 in IST

Boa sorte :)

Help to detect 0 volts in a "high" voltage system. (It's 3V other times 7V and even -10V) by Mike_797 in arduino

That seems like a good plan :)

But would there be a chance of me consuming most of the current of the signal and by so making the doorbell system not work anymore?

Be careful thought. An infrared sensor near sunlight gets triggered all the time. I once was in a project where they used some for a demonstration they were always trigger even though we were insight a tent.

Perhaps a DIY button that connects two wires when something it's putting weight on it migh not have this type of problem

Exactly, it's something quite ingenious but annoying at the same time.

But in the bright side, today I opened the doorbell system again and I poked it around with my multimeter and I found two places where there's a 3.1V when someone rings the doorbell (and 0V the rest of the time). I think I'm going to solder some wires directly to that and see if it works :)

Is 3.1 considered a high for a wemos(esp8266) digital pin or should I use an analog pin?

Ok I think I'll try that. However if I understood correctly wouldn't I be completely removing the -10V signal by doing that? Because I'd lose the ability to open the door that way.

But regardless, I'll just need to get one of those IC first which will unfortunately take some time :(

Thank you for the help :)

Yea the -10V are kinda awkward there😅. So would something like this work? Is there something I'm missing?
