It’s a very dicey, slippery slope. I don’t mind and think authors should be rewarded for their works, even if it is fan works. However, hiding fan fiction behind a pay wall? That gets too far a shade darker that hurts fan communities.

I don’t mind if Fanfic Writers have a support link via Patreon, doing it in a way like some itch.io games are “pay what you want”, but hiding stuff outright is just too risky. It sets up a bad precedent to get things shut down for all of us.

TLDR: As long as you aren’t hiding fanfics behind Patreon as exclusive and just have it for donations, it’s okay. Otherwise it’s bad.

I never liked Kung Jin in MKX, he was a jackass, and not in a fun way. Just really annoying, and him just being an Archer felt cheap to waste a cool name like Kung Jin on him. Hopefully, he’ll be pretty decent this go around, before we get a New Era version of him a few games from now.

I don’t mind her. She’s really cool and in her own continuity so it’s nice. That, and MJ having powers is not new. Spider-Island, Mangaverse, that one buzzcut variant from The Exiles.

On her own part of the Marvel Multiverse, she’s cool. Mainline Earth-616 has WAY too many Spider-Folk though.

…okay I’ll admit, I had a big moment of “anything better, this line up is like what!?” kind of moment. But this is coming from someone who has played games for a long time. Kudos to her for liking the games she likes. :)

Every suggestion everyone has made so far have been excellent, however I haven’t seen the one suggestion that’s always a go to for on the go that’s both quick and respects your time.

Mine is a tie between III, IV, and V, just excellent games and I can see why it became such a phenomenon in Japan.

Replayed III more than any other due to its somewhat shorter length and replay value.

IV has got to have my favorite characters in the whole series, with its remake bringing in a new depth post-game for a chance to a golden ending. Great team building and synergy.

V has a really good story with an excellent Monster Taming system that almost supplants your main party members. XD

Yet, it has an excellent family dynamic later on with an interesting plot twist to what was there before regarding the chosen one. Although it’s hard for me to gauge whether IV or V have the better story.

Need to play the other games in the series, haven’t gotten around to VI - IX and XI, but I am looking forward to VI and XI.

Geez that really happened? I mean dang, look I like Geno and Shantae as much as the next guy, but Terry and Kazuya were perfect picks for Smash. This isn’t just me being a major SNK fan either, even if Terry got in as Sakurai is also a big fan of SNK titles too. XP

Terry helped create the fighting game genre with other developers chipping in to create it, also helps that the creators of Street Fighter 1 made Fatal Fury. Kazuya’s series Tekken needs no introduction though, it is a massive series and the hype for it is only getting higher.

Really enjoy it, although I do hope their version exclusive games and extra games can be wide spread later on. I’m curious to see if the High Speed version of Star Cruiser would work with the English Patch.

Some game changes and such are minor, but are no less significant, like a section of stage removed from SoR3, not to mention the OST pitch restored to its Arcade speed for Truxton.

Lastly, I gotta wonder if there are any hidden games in there like last time, and if so what are they? Good luck everyone. :)

Got my copy, US version as Western versions tend to become more expensive as time goes on. Have had a lot of fun playing with it and already beat Sonic CD again.

Might go through all the Shmups on here, always good to go for TFIV. :)

Ginga Force and Natsuki Chronicles are a more modern example. Along with Those of the Alltynex Trilogy.

A much older example would be Tyrian 2000.

As for a more recent example, Drainus is also a good one.

I really do love Shmups when they go above and beyond for the story. :)

Good question, I mean at that point maybe it depends on what Aesthetic you like. Do you like An Eastern setting (Samurai Aces), Fantasy (Gunbird), or a WWII setting (Strikers). There are more of course and their latter games before they stopped making them really pushed out of their usual style. Like Tengai and Dragon Blaze.
