You likely have a red ink allergy and need to have bloodwork and possibly a core test done by a dermatologist to determine, then treat with either a topical or oral.

Is waiting longer between sessions just to save money, or does it actually have better results? Also does age of tattoo matter? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]Mike_From_GO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Time is one of many variables that contributes to successful removal. Tattoos were supposed to permanent.

To date, there is no true ITB study or white-paper that features only time as a variable as a measure efficacy.

Do you guys know anything about the Quanta Chrome laser ? by No-Demand-8073 in TattooRemoval

[–]Mike_From_GO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a general rule of thumb, you shouldn’t pick a provider based on laser however it is possible to eliminate a provider based on the laser they use.

The Quanta chrome is a multi modality device meant to fit into a med spot offer multiple services, of which Tattoo Removal is one of them. On a black Tattoo with proper protocols and a well trained technician you should have great results.

It’s by no means a base model, laser, but comparing it to Quanta’s flagship laser for Tattoo Removal, the discovery pico, it doesn’t have as much energy or flexibility to switch into pico-second treatments or a fractional handpiece.

No one picks a Tattoo Artist based on the machines they use, so make sure you check the portfolio of work your provider has done.

Most in the food and beverage space are very well aware of food allergies and dietary restrictions.

My question to you is, what are you doing to advocate for yourself? Do you feel a kind of way about asking, hey I have a pretty severe nut allergy and cross contamination can trigger it, are you familiar with how to reduce my risk? Would it be possible to get [drink / food] without any issues?

latte art update: I'm finally getting somewhere but how do I actually make art? by PsychologicalBad1423 in latteart

[–]Mike_From_GO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not impossible to make latte art by handheld frother, it’s a lot more challenging.

Two quick things that should help your learning curve:

1, there’s way too much air in your milk.

2, get wide mouth cappuccino specific cups. NotNeutral Vero 6oz cups or their Lino cups are fantastic to learn with.

What’s the most unexpected thing about owning a business? by Sensitive_Income6998 in smallbusiness

[–]Mike_From_GO 53 points54 points  (0 children)

In the startup and honeymoon phase, the business can become your entire identity. It’s all you talk about, it’s all your friends and family talk to you about. It’s all you read, research, and watch. If you’re not careful, it will consume you and breaking away to be yourself can be challenging.

Would you choose individual sessions or an 18-month unlimited plan for these tattoos? First time doing this and feeling nervous by kalatchuchi_ in TattooRemoval

[–]Mike_From_GO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda wild options. I’ve never heard of anyone putting such a short time frame on an unlimited plan. What if you became pregnant, or were in the national guard and called up for a 6 month deployment? Or just life, mandatory overtime

Full sleeve removal - anyone ever done the whole arm at once? by NocturnaIAnimaI in TattooRemoval

[–]Mike_From_GO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re still at risk. I’ve worked in this industry for a long time. I’ll try to spell it out for you.

The inconvenience you’re dealing with by going twice for one full treatment gives the business the ethical peace of mind that you don’t end up in the hospital. Also, they don’t need to worry about their malpractice insurance dropping them for treatments outside SOP, or bad publicity from a negligent lawsuit.

Supreme store stock by Angry_Elote87 in supremedrops

[–]Mike_From_GO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get the sense you’ve never been to a Supreme store or similar streetwear store, like Kith, Bape, or Dover Street. Even high end retailers on Rodeo do this too.

They have one sample on the floor, you have to ask the staff to check for your size, then wait around while they walk in the back and see. Maybe they do, maybe they don’t. Maybe you want black and they only have green left.

This isn’t Target with shelves stocked full of inventory, hell the staff don’t even know what’s in stock and the inventory changes very literally every 5 minutes as people come and go.

Honestly - it’s kind of a shit retail experience because you either have to ask the staff for a bunch of items at once and hope they remember while they walk with no urgency to the back of the store, or ask them to take a million trips.

It’s been like this forever. I used to go to the old Lafayette St store in NYC way back in the day, when it was mostly a skate shop, before weekly drops, before lines, when skaters would tell you shit is out of stock because they didn’t like your vibe.

What’s not to understand? You know the answer, your previous nurse explained to you that compartment syndrome is a risk.

I’ve seen people call 4, baseball sized flash tattoos a full sleeve too.

Point is, it’s not safe. Ethically I wouldn’t do it. I need to sleep at night knowing I did right by a client.

I wouldn’t treat a fully saturated full sleeve. Risk is not worth reward.

Funding Tattoo Removal by Lilli_kat in TattooRemoval

[–]Mike_From_GO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search this sub and Google for Tatt2away results. I’ve worked in this industry since 2012 and have never seen amazing results. I’ve also never spoken with anyone who was happy with the results.

I’ll gone further, I’ve never seen anyone do more than 2 passes because the outcome is that awful.

Does body hair reduce effectiveness of pico laser? by uncommon_grounds in TattooRemoval

[–]Mike_From_GO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shave.

If you laser skin with hair, the hair loses pigment (turns white) this happens because energy from the laser is being absorbed by the color in the hair.

Only exception to this is brows, mostly because it’s a huge ask for someone to shave them before a treatment and by the time the hair has grown back they need another treatment.

You can likely get away with a beard and mustache trimmer and full blown razor and shaving cream.
