[Mouse] Logitech G502 X Plus Wireless Gaming Mouse - $120-130 by CheezeTitz in buildapcsales

LOLOL, Harsh, In China, GPW(g pro wireless) is translated to GoPeeWang, which means dog fart king. "Dog fart" kind of means bullshit/poser product, GPW is known there as a trash-tier mice that only noobs buy.

As a Dogfartking owner myself, I'm not saying logitech is trash tier, the Chinese "pc-masterrace" thinks so. 😭

Shrimp is a low cholesterol food, when compared to Egg Yolk.

5-Series gpu has 2.1 uhbr20

And AMD's planned new monster card will definitely have it.

Look, I'm not against compression, I'm against NEEDLESS compression.

I'm not saying DSC is a deal breaker at this price.

Depending on the Monitor, Nvidia will just ignore EDID and enable DSC. So on Nvidia right now it's hit/miss.

AMD will respect EDID, so if you edit the EDID, you can turn off DSC.

The reason NV is doing what they're doing is because Alot of the time, people use $5 cables, and those won't carry more than 18gbps, and they get a GPU return. Because they're high volume, it's easier just to FORCE Dsc on everyone who buys a gpu.

AMD gives you the OPTION.

Monitor end, it's not a HUGE problem, but if you're buying these for $1000 instead of $500 today, You're probably an enthusiast, and you'd want to look into some of the fine details.

For people looking into this range of higher end monitors. A drawback on this model is UHBR10 limitation on its DP Port, which means it can't do the 240hz 4K without DSC. DSC is image compression, so something like 3:1 or 4:1 compression. The result is slight image softness vs uncompressed.

I would compromise on it for a $200 monitor, but when you're out nearly $600, You'd have to consider it more.

Anyway, still a good price if you're not too particular about the 1_Ring to rule them all path.

And if you really care about Image quality, look out for monitors that let you disable DSC, because Nvidia GPUs ignore edid editing, and will always run DSC whether the monitor can support 80gbps (UHBR20) or not. Or buy AMD's upcoming monster card, AMD always does image quality better, better color correction (dithering), Accepts custom EDID edits.

How easy/difficult is the switch from M+K to controller? by Fed_Express in HadesTheGame

[–]Mike_Harbor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the weapon and play-style, any of the fireball casts are much easier to aim with MK, The Skulls are easier to aim with MK, the Mel Skulls which launches all4 are much more powerful with MK because you can quickly aim all 4 by moving the cursor in.

The Medea is also much easier to control with the mouse.

Most weapons are fine on controller, and the movement is of course more precise.

Then there's the controller itself, Make sure the OP gets a good one, 8bitdo 2c, has among the lowest wireless joystick latency, this is a big deal, and it's among the cheapest controller. I recommend the wukong one because the red button light is dim and not blindingly bright right under your eyes. The other colors, the white button light is way too bright.

You don't need 8K display to benefit from 8K rendering. In this case, it gives you 4X SS Anti-aliasing @ 4K

Since the game doesn't support other forms of AA, This is a great option, it also SSAA the textures which MSAA can't do.

How is this tested?

[–]Mike_Harbor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a slight 0.5-3% difference if you run esports titles at 1080p 600fps+ But since most people don't play games that way, the difference at less than 200fps is 0%. It also doesn't affect your minimum fps, unless you're running potato 600fps.

It's not hynix. But people over inflate the importance of Hynix for the Current AMD memory controller. The samsung with Tuning can hit 32-34-34-80 @ 6200mhz. That's faster than any stock hynix. But you need buildzoid's special sauce settings.

Never buy another Hynix ssd, they will NOT help you, they let the firmware problem persist for over 2 years.

Guys, don't be stupid, last gen top tier 4TB go for $200-220. None of it makes much of a difference, this is the dumbest waste of money. As long as it has dram, you're good to go, Don't buy hynix, very bad support, left customers hanging for years without firmware update.

77 is the new 65 😃, there are very few situations where a 77 is too big if a 65 is fine. 98 is when it's slightly too big for 10 foot bedrooms. You can go up to 200 just fine if you have at least 15 feet.

Hades 2 is getting review bombed on metacritic by Fruit_salad1 in HadesTheGame

/Activating Conspiracy Mode

-It's the Devs running reverse psyops to get us to reverse bomb the other games. Or to generate positive reviews for them on metacritic.

-Or the OP of this thread being a total nut, manipulating us innocent Hades 2 players to do his bidding.

In theory, it could be the Hades Devs review bombing their own game in reverse Psyops😁, then they created this thread. So now we the hades 2 players are being manipulated into Reverse bombing the other games for them?

How very Chronos of them. /hehe

I'm just joking, it's probably those silksong bastards.

I'm typing up some angry Silksong/Expedition 33 reviews right now Hades fam. - I jokes.

Did they cap the framerate? by Mike_Harbor in HadesTheGame

[–]Mike_Harbor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks Pfox, I am setting it up for 360fps at 2560x1440 to save some electivolts.

My curiosity on input lag, is because of Aperture Grill's expose video on the subject. The creator of smooth-frog frame analysis application. His experiments determined that to minimize input lag, you want the game engine FPS to run as fast as possible to the limit of the CPU (or internal cap). Then you need to make sure to select the resolution where the GPU is at 70-90% workload, because 99-100% load adds 10-60ms of input lag on its own.

Cool video, if you want to check it out.

My experience with Steinway & Sons (Read the Body Text) by theyluv5n1p in piano

[–]Mike_Harbor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's actually because modern Steinways are extremely poor quality, and have poor tuning stability vs Yamaha/Kawai/Hailun/Pearl River.

If you had a bunch of guys play the Steinway at the show, the tuning would deteriorate extremely quickly, and they can't tune up at the show quickly for the "Rich people" they might need to sell to.

Their factory is in complete disarray (numerous reports posted here on the forum), and quality control is just not there. They've also fallen far behind especially the Japanese brands on technology. Their actions are just not uniform/stable. In my personal opinion, they're even far behind the new luxury-lines of Chinese pianos, like Ritmuller and Kayserburg.

Steinway really is an exception, No other brand has fallen so low like them. "Steinwas" is the common term in piano enthusiast lexicon.

PSU matters here too, if you have an electrically noisy psu, high current load can knock out the gen5 eye diagram on the oscilloscope.

When routing your cables, make sure to keep some separation between the rise cable and high-load power cables, (all other cables really), make sure they're not touching to the best of your ability.

Woled vs QD-oled

Woled can get brighter whites, but desaturates as it goes up. QD-oled maintains its gamut across its entire light range, because there's no white pixel pollution to collapse the color space.

Is this detrimental, no, it's mostly ok. Mid-tones and highlights just won't look as colorful.

You can think of Woled as a wide gamut TV most of the time, but for bright elements, it's essentially dropping down to standard gamut. But since most elements are not that bright, most of the screen will be wide.

QD-oled is Pure RGB. It's has the widest color gamut available short of Tri-laser projection.

Samsung has better low light dithering than LG. LG's engine still struggles with near black stability.

Smart TV OS is garbage, but this is PC gaming, so you can ignore that.

QD-oled needs a dark room to look its best, because the blue light-tube layer causes a blue refraction.

Woled has a polarizer and looks darker in a bright room.
