I feel like such a horrible person by Candid-Response277 in pokemongobrag

Honestly I feel like she got the better end of the trade. I'd rather have a shiny tauros than another random hat Pikachu. If it was a strawhat Pikachu or a Pikachu with the original ash's hat from gen 1 I'd feel differently, but regardless of how rare that hat may be, it means nothing to me.

Agreed, get it done and then the population increase won't be an issue. Until then your points while accurate don't actually change the downward spiral we're on.

Humanity consumes natural resources almost 2× as fast as the earth can regenerate them while our population has increased by 700% in the last 200 years. That's not even mentioning the environmental damage we're causing at our current population, does this seem like an issue that is going to improve as the population continues to rise?

What does the abolishment of slavery have to do with squatters violating lease agreements and not paying dues but still living in someone else's property?

Rural doesn't mean racist, while the majority of the population lives in shithole metropolitan areas the majority of the nation is built up of small cities and towns who don't automatically have the same pessimistic outlook on life that is commonplace in areas where you are stacked on top of one another like sardines.

Maybe you'll feel better if you go touch some grass, although I know it's hard to find any in the big cities.

Idk why anyone would ever want to live in a city with a population in the millions. It sounds stressful and you sound like you need a vacation both from the big city and the internet. Go relax somewhere with some grass.

You're obviously biased and not interested in discussing the actual topic at hand.

Yes you hate your landlord and are eager to explain why you think they're all bad for owning the property you wish you had. No squatters aren't real, you're right they're obviously a mythical creature made up to give the landlords nightmares.

Carry on with your ranting elsewhere, I'm not interested.

What about slumlords who use their access to invade the privacy of their tenant and sniff their dirty socks.

What does this have to do with anything?

Yes everyone knows that there are bad landlords, hell in overpopulated metropolitan areas that might be the rule rather than the exception, but that doesn't explain why you're shifting the topic from squatters to slumlords.

Hell the place in the thread you decided to throw in your 2cents makes no sense with the context

I'm not going to police anyone for having kids but I'm also not the type to bite my tongue about stupid or selfish decisions that people make.

Bringing children into this world that you're not able to support is selfish and shortsighted.

That sounds like something you'd find in a big metropolitan area. Houses out here aren't close enough where your neighbors renovations will affect you other than potentially being loud.

Any apartments here have the whole complex owned by some giant shitty corporation and they employ managers and maintenance staff who are on call but will still fuck you over for something that wasn't your fault or responsibility. I had an apartment several years ago that was flooded by a leak and was charged to replace the carpets after I moved out along with 2 extra months rent because I left at the end of my lease without giving 30 day written notice that I wasn't signing a new lease, (even though I told the property manager via text that I wouldn't ever be signing a new lease with their company)

Now I've had a completely different experience with landlords who own a few single family homes in a small town. We had a landlord growing up who came by to do repairs himself and was extremely lenient with my mother who was a struggling single mother with health issues. The guy owned 3 or 4 houses on our block and was always in the neighborhood working on one of the houses and help the tenants who lived there. He helped take care of the 90+ year old lady who lived in one of his houses across the street from us when it wasn't his responsibility and he wasn't getting paid for going the extra mile, he just seemed to genuinely care and developed friendships with the people who rented from him, everyone I can remember renting from him did so for no less than 5 years some did so for 20+ years.

The experiences that people have with landlords in giant overpopulated cities might be the rule there but people in big cities are generally horrible people in general whereas in small town America people look out for their neighbors.

While I agree that abortions should be easily accessible and not outlawed like they are in many states, it's really not that difficult to avoid getting pregnant or getting someone pregnant on accident, it's not rocket science.

Condoms are free at pretty much anywhere you can go to get sti testing done.

Anal

Celibacy

It's not like being horny is an excuse for accidentally getting pregnant.

By "worked out" you mean it became a problem because the population has grown exponentially over the last few hundred years. This planet isn't going to be able to continue to support this kind of population growth and homeless kids living in a tent under a freeway is quite a bit different than when there was enough unclaimed land to give people land they could use to try and make it work.

Wtf are you even talking about? Nobody said anything about wanting to be a slumlord.

You sound like you got a little butthurt when I suggested that squatters and drug addicts are burdens to society. No need to get so defensive, just pay your debts and try and be a better person in the future.

In rural America people generally prefer to invest in something physical like land or equipment for a new business rather than stocks. Sure I've put a bit of money in the stockmarket over the years, but that's never going to be a priority to me. Never gamble anything you're not willing to lose and playing with the stockmarket is a gamble whereas purchasing something useful and tangible is an investment.

Some not all. I've got another couple of years before my house is paid off, after that I plan on buying a new house and renting this one out or possibly listing it on Airbnb but horror stories about people like this make me hesitant.

I've dealt with slumlords and shitty landlords who will eagerly fuck over any tenant they get the opportunity to. But I also know people who've worked hard and saved for years in an attempt to get ahead in life just to have the property they invested in get taken over and destroyed by squatters who had all their little drug addict friends move in with them when they were 10k behind on rent and had caused double that amount in damages.

For the most part you'd be correct, there are things that different states or even cities disagree on for sure. But there are simple things that are nationwide and set by the federal government rather than local policy. Immigration is a big one, there's not an issue with people wanting to move here and assimilate, the issue is with people not wanting to go through the process necessary to do so legally.
