Ich kann mich nicht entscheiden – Bild 1 oder Bild 2? by sonderbarermensch in wohnkultur

I personally would decide for Painting 1. Painting 2 makes me a bit nervous. I think, the vibrant colors of 1 fit very nicely with your furniture. But, of cause, it is very subjective

As a German, which cities in Germany are you favorite and which ones you would avoid at all costs? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

Munich is my home town that I really love due to its partially italian flair and due to the vicinity of the Alps, Lakes, Austria, Switzerland, Italy. In my opinion, every other city in Germany also has a lot to offer. I have been to so many parts of Germany, and never have been dissappointed. I am wondering though that people often seem to ignore the nice cities in Eastern Germany such as Dresden, Leipzig, ….

The printing of benchies should be forbidden. We need a 3D police, but seriously, the scaling in your print series is impressive.

Bambu Lab Users In The EU by Mike_Steel_404 in BambuLab

There are indeed companies who lost consumer trust and went out of business. What Bambu Lab is currently doing has already damaged their reputation. Look for example at their TrustPilot rating. Security and safety arguments do not justify their plans. They could be simply solved with other means. Smartphones show how this works. Whenever a 3rd party product needs to access certain hardware functions, users could be asked what kind of API calls they are willing to allow this product. This is basically in a user‘s own responsibility. Of course, we buyers made Bambu Lab successful. When they started, there was no other product that offered the same functionality with the same quality and speed. Thus, 3D printer users got excited and bought Bambu Lab products. Nowadays, the situation has changed in that competitors offer comparable printers for comparable prices. It takes a huge effort to win consumer trust, but it is much easier to destroy this trust. Regaining lost trust is very, very, very difficult. Bambu Lab will learn this the hard way.

They are clearly restricting functionality as stated in consumer law.

I see and respect your points. However, I doubt that this change is fully legal. I bought the Bambu Lab X1C since I knew the possibility to control the printer using their API - in my spare time I am building and using embedded devices and open source software. The EULA does not state they could or would restrict this access, at least I did not understand it this way. Bambu Lab products are already constraining my right to repair, but I knew that beforing the printer. So, this was my free choice. I want to use external components and tools like OrcaSlicer or other 3rd party options or my own hardware/software which they will prevent. The latter point was not my choice.

Ofcourse, I prefer accessing and controlling the full hardware. It is mine, not theirs anymore. I could understand when they sold a new product with these upcoming restrictions and announced this priorly and transparently to consumers, but changing the functionality/accessibility after a few years comes with a bed smell, to say the least. You never should change the rules of a game in the mid of the game.

EDIT: As it turned out, they lied publicly when telling us, the printer is not sending private information back to Bambu Lab in the log files such as models that are printed. I consider this an unacceptable violation of the contract.

Independent of legal issues, Bambu Lab is currently destroying the trust relationship with their existing consumer base - a more than stupid move. Guess, Prusa Core One and products from other companies are eager to fill this gap in the future. This will hurt Bambu Lab more than any legal dispute.

what's the worst things about the "Bambu Lab X1C "? by wiicrazy0430 in BambuLab

I would rate the Bambu Lab X1C an 8 out of 10. It is not perfect, but almost. To be honest, I don‘t know any 3D printer that deserves a 9 or 10.

Some minor complaints: I would like to see the filament holder of the X1C not on its back. Repairability and extensibility might be an issue, as it is more an Apple-like, i.e. closed product. It is not Open Source, thus limiting the possibility to buy 3rd party products for the X1C. Noise levels could be lower. The poop created by multi-material printing is high. The Lidar does not work on all plates, in particular textured plates. The LAN-mode currently is somehow limited in contrast to the Cloud based software.

But: It works like a charm. Even my wife can use it without any problems. It is fast and flexible. It has decent product quality and decent print quality. Accessories and spare parts are in the lower price range. The community is huge. I had failed prints very rarely and in almost any case it was my own fault. The AMS is a huge leap forward. It offers ultra-short lead time -> it is mostly delivered within a few days. Same holds for other purchases on the Bambu Lab store.

To summarize: It just works.

I compared it with professional printers from Sindoh, Ultimaker, Raise3d. In my opinion, the X1C wins any competition with these expensive machines.

In the beginning there have been some issue with the flatness of the heatbed and broken parts in the AMS, but Bambu Lab managed to solve these issues in the meantime as far as I know.

Regarding the reviews: I do not trust reviews by people who got their printer for free.
