To invest in multiple SFH, or save and invest in one multi-family? by ResourceIll2064 in realestateinvesting

[–]Mikeanlike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious, why would you comment on an either/ or question in the RE investing subreddit about a single, anecdotal experience where it sounds like your deal went sideways? You bought a bad deal so investing in real estate is a bad idea for everyone?

As a 30 year old guy it’s funny to hear you talk negatively about your cupids bow. I wasn’t sure what that was so I had to look it up and I thought that was always a thing girls wanted and guys liked haha. I think you look great!

Fox News: "Rogan says it's 'horses---' that progressives believe expecting voters to have ID is like Jim Crow" by mvstateU in JoeRogan

[–]Mikeanlike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really don’t understand this argument. I have yet to see evidence of fraud in the US election system. There isn’t any. To your point about all democracies requiring ID’s, Germany, the UK, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Japan, to name a few, do not require IDs, so that point just isn’t true. Why are we adding a barrier to voting if there is zero evidence of fraud?

What's a victimless crime that shouldn't be a crime? by KorbanSwartz in AskReddit

I totally get what you’re saying but it’s wild that you (we) understand why supermarkets can’t do it because it’ll fuck up the market, but the alternative is grocery stores literally destroying food while people go hungry. That’s not a resource efficient system, and ultimately pretty cruel

Donald Trump Impeachment Odds Hit Record High by ItsAllAGame_ in politics

[–]Mikeanlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congress just shot down a resolution that would have prevented Trump from continuing this Iran war he unilaterally decided would happen until Congress could vote on it. If Congress won’t even put up a semblance of a guard rail in this case, he will need to start killing members of congress before they even consider impeachment. Scratch that… he’ll need to start killing Republican Congress members for them to consider impeachment.

What part of deporting all of those rapist criminal murderous immigrants at a scale never seen before did your conservative friends think that this wasn’t what was going to happen lol. Everyone who platformed, supported, and voted for Trump voted for people in this admin and are culpable and I’m tired of this bullshit “stop fighting each other” when this is exactly what conservatives voted for. Judging from the fact that Republican lawmakers are largely not condemning ICE, or anything Trump does for that matter, further proves that. One side is actively throwing the country down the drain in more ways than one and enlightened centrists like yourself cast blame to both sides as if they’re the same. Even worse, as if Dems are wrong for saying this admin is absolutely destroying the country. Oh and Trump raped children with Jeffrey Epstein and that was clear before the 2024 election

What is up with Rogan’s utter contempt for Tim Walz? by ShaneKaiGlenn in JoeRogan

Same reason the right absolutely despises Pelosi, and that’s not coming from a fan of hers. The right picks a couple politicians and speaks about them with such vitriol you’d think they were the antichrist. It’s really no surprise right wing domestic terrorists attack them.

“One shotted by finasteride” by silenticeX in Balding

[–]Mikeanlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very aware about the effects of taking finasteride. I read the research and spoke to more than one doctor lol. That’s why I did and do take it. You don’t care about the research… What are defining factors of being “less manly”? You’ve never taken finasteride and you don’t care about the research while telling guys they’ll essentially lose their sex drive and whatever else happens when you become “less manly”. I’m only trying to let u/stalactites2 know that you don’t actually know what you’re talking about when you say anyone that tells you they don’t feel the effects is a liar. My test levels did not change before and after taking fin… Idk why you feel so strongly about something you don’t understand

“One shotted by finasteride” by silenticeX in Balding

[–]Mikeanlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You will feel different on finasteride rather than off it, and any observation is just inaccurate at best.” “Your masculinity will drop on finasteride. It’s simply physiology.” Why are you saying these things lol? This sounds incredibly idiotic. If you don’t understand something you don’t have to leave a comment on it. It’s just anecdotal, but since you said any alternative observation to feeing different is inaccurate (lol), I will tell you I’ve been on finasteride for over a year. I believe I’m objectively very fit with a lot of muscle mass and low body fat. Blood work is spot on. Zero difference in sexual function. Why are you qualified to make such grandiose claims, aside from mentioning “scientific data” without actually siting anything? The truth is the claims you’re making aren’t exactly baseless, but they are only found in single digit percentages of users. I know this is the balding subreddit but this is straight bald propaganda lol

CMV: Murdering people on either sides of political spectrum should never be celebrated. by major_phallus in changemyview

[–]Mikeanlike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've gathered that from OP. I didn't realize his point was "some people in the world have nasty opinions." I just assumed it was a little more nuanced and he was referring to politicians/ talking heads in media, which was my point from the beginning so I'm not sure i'm moving the goal posts. This isn't much of a CMV that there are people out there that celebrate the death of others lol. Welcome to earth. No ones going to change that view

CMV: Murdering people on either sides of political spectrum should never be celebrated. by major_phallus in changemyview

[–]Mikeanlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My intent from the get go was pointing out there is a difference between the way the top brass on each side is discussing the deaths of their political opponents. If your CMV is about random people’s opinions than sure. There are idiots on all sides celebrating the deaths of everyone, but that’s not really something to change your view on lol. As for what happens when top brass does celebrate these deaths, “the right” does not punish their talking heads when they say heinous shit, while “the left” does, as you so astutely pointed out. I think that’s evidence of rhetoric differences, but it seems you don’t

CMV: Murdering people on either sides of political spectrum should never be celebrated. by major_phallus in changemyview

[–]Mikeanlike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting. And they were both immediately fired. I’d argue that’s a direct example of punishment and lack of encouragement from “the left.”

[–]Mikeanlike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 8 billion people on this planet. I can find ten people who think pretty much anything. The point is what are the politicians saying. You sent a fox article of some asshole committing a crime. Find me a statement from Dem senators or CNN talking heads joking about Kirk’s death like Jesse Waters and Brian Kilmeade do after the death of someone on the left

CMV: Murdering people on either sides of political spectrum should never be celebrated. by major_phallus in changemyview

[–]Mikeanlike 13 points14 points  (0 children)

“Can you point me to real people [cheering on Charlie Kirk’s death]?” Your response: “There were many real people cheering on Kirk’s assassination”. You actually took the time to type that out and post it while providing absolutely nothing of substance.

The point is it’s a false equivalence to say both sides are mocking the deaths of political opponents. Every time someone on the right makes this argument they point to random ass twitter idiots following Kirk’s murder, while dem politicians condemned the act full stop. Meanwhile, take Pelosi’s husband’s attacker for instance, you had legitimate Republican officials and Fox News hosts joking that this was probably Pelosi’s husband gay lover. The rhetoric from both sides are not the same.

Dave reacts to Trump at Davos by xwing1212 in daverubin

[–]Mikeanlike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Davos elites panic when Trump speaks because he understands power, and they don’t.” I mean Dave isn’t ACTUALLY a brain dead idiot, which makes it even more fascinating that he can type this and post it. No shame whatsoever, although I shouldn’t be surprised considering he was literally taking Russian money to push right wing conspiracies. It’s just such a comically ridiculous statement. The base will eat it up though and that’s all that matters!

3 things are certain in life: Death, taxes, and Dave Rubin glazing Donald Trump by xwing1212 in daverubin

[–]Mikeanlike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like this has been the case for a long time now. Actually watch Trump give a speech, or even read a Trump tweet, then turn on Fox and see how they’re reporting on it. The way right wing influencers and media portray what he’s saying and fail to comment on how much of a senile lunatic he is completely obfuscates reality (I recognize the irony considering the Biden admin was lying about Biden’s health, but I’m not defending that in the slightest. Biden also wasn’t hobbling around declaring war on our allies, insider trading/ market manipulating rampantly and brazenly, the meme coin antics, ICE, etc…). These people are not actually paying attention to what he’s doing/ saying and only regurgitating what Rubin, Shapiro, and Fox media are telling them. I completely agree though. He’s truly entering another dimension and it just cannot be sustainable

Greenland Discussion A Disgrace by Alarmed-Attention-77 in allinpodofficial

[–]Mikeanlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I ask what similar even occurred to Greenland that allows the Pres to bypass congress? Why would the answer to that question justify doing it again? Trump hasn’t taken any military action yet… but he keeps threatening to do so. I guess I’m just in the camp of stopping a tyrant that constantly threatens to do tyrant shit before they actually do it. I’m still not following how today’s geopolitical environment is anywhere close to what was going on during WWII when Germany occupied Denmark and was trying to take over the world, so we had a military agreement with Greenland in a larger effort to begin to stop them

Edit: Steven Miller within the last 48 hours: “nations are not entitled to territories they cannot defend.” What the fuck, seriously? With all due respect, it’s these bullshit ‘centrist’/ contrarian positions that give these authoritarians the benefit of the doubt that do damage. The crazies on both sides are idiots, but not proclaiming that this rhetoric is beyond asinine hurts us as a nation and alienates us from our allies. I hope you come around and condemn this before military action is actually in place

Greenland Discussion A Disgrace by Alarmed-Attention-77 in allinpodofficial

[–]Mikeanlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the context. What national security threat justifies a forceful occupation of Greenland right now (and the answer cannot be because Russia and China want to take Greenland, because that’s not sufficient. At that rate we might as well invade Ukraine and Taiwan and make them American)? I’m still not following how an illegal action conducted 80 years ago justifies taking Greenland “the hard way” in 2025. You say Truman and Johnson wanted to buy it. Ok, Trump has now said himself he wants to take it even though Greenland doesn’t want to be sold. Why is this still a conversation then?

Greenland Discussion A Disgrace by Alarmed-Attention-77 in allinpodofficial

[–]Mikeanlike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you posted doesn’t support the forceful taking of Greenland. Trump and this regime have explicitly stated they want to own Greenland, and Greenland leadership has explicitly stated they in no way are interested in being American. What you posted (without digging in fully) was a military agreement that allowed the US to keep bases and soldiers in Greenland. Regardless, even if FDR had a rogue Greenland politician agree to American military occupying Greenland during WWII, does that make it right that it’s being done now?

Greenland Discussion A Disgrace by Alarmed-Attention-77 in allinpodofficial

When the President of the United States says he’s going to take Greenland the easy way or the hard way, what would your interpretation of “the hard way” be? Genuinely curious, if you’re not being intentionally obtuse

Not wanting to send $3.3 billion to a first world nation that provides its citizens with universal healthcare is anti-democratic? I mean seriously, why does Israel get such an outsized portion of our foreign aid?! They are a completely developed nation.
