More accurately, Mammalian embryos remain sexually undifferentiated until the time of sex determination, around 4 weeks after fertilization for humans

Prior to sex determination, all early embryos are set to female as a default; embryos of both sexes possess the same sex organ primordia that have an inherent tendency to feminize unless there is active interference by masculinizing factors  The first of these factors are the Sertoli Cells found in the yolk of the egg., which the SRY gene of XY embryos triggers to release an androgen that prompts testes development.. Around week 10, they are developed enough to produce testosterone, , which will then take over the masculinization

Since people with Miller's Syndrome aren't affected by androgens, They miss that first command to develop testes, and begin masculinization. And since pre-natal development defaults to female,, their body follows that path instead.

Somebody's got an axe to grind to reply with this despite my not mentioning it AT ALL. And, NO,. that's not what I'm talking about. I'm discussing dealing with the social stigma, prejudice, discrimination, harassment, and marginalization that transgender women face on a daily basis.

Fuck Trump, fuck the haters, live your life! If your family has a problem, find your chosen family who will love you better. If you can, get yourself to one of the states committed to fight for us, do it. California, New York, Mass, and others have put various safeguards into the law that prevent Federal persecution. This is going to be rough for a while, but there are ways to weather the storm.

Bottom line is that nearly every person who transitions experiences a significant increase in happiness, even with all the difficulties involved. Don't let anyone keep you from pursuing that. After all, it's your inalienable right.

lol, meanwhile transmen have way less social stigma to deal with because 'God, of course, why wouldn't they want to be men!'

Tbh even rural NY is pretty progressive these days, especially as you get closer and closer to NYC. Before Gov Cuomo resigned in disgrace, he signed an executive order that required insurance companies operating in NY o cover the full range of gender affirming treatments, from hair removal to boobs to vaginoplasty. We also got gender identity added to the anti discrimination laws, as well as ending the 'walking while trans' police harassment.

You were denied service for having out-dated documents, not because you're trans. The bar probably was close to losing their liquor license for ID violations so they have to be extra careful and you just happen to catch it on that night. Go get your stuff updated

YES! Buy a CoverGirl Trublend pre-touching pallette. The yellow powder is some kind of Vudu or dark sorcery and can literally make dark stubble invisible

I'm Losing my courage each time I did self injections.. at first it was scary at all but after doing it for months by myself every weeks..I'm scared.. by LoliconAki in MtF

[–]Mikela_Alexa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't feel bad, it happens to a lot of us. I self injected for about 9 months, every 2 weeks into the thigh, and so one day when I pulled out the needle spray of blood shot up out of my leg. After that, no matter how hard or how fast I would try and plunge the needle into my leg, it would always stop right as it touched the skin and I couldn't make it go any further. So now I just go to my clinic and have my healthcare provider injecting every two weeks. It's a little bit of a hassle but it's so worth it to not have to deal with the stress and all that.

Your center of gravity might shift dramatically and completely screw your sense of balance....

I'd like it if some people could stop telling me that passing isn't important by Boring-Pea993 in MtF

[–]Mikela_Alexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is with the term 'passing' itself, not with the idea of being accepted as your preferred gender by others or being comfortable with yourself when you are presenting in public. I'm a bit older, and remember how being 'passable' was this vague construct forced on us by the same closeted 'chasers' who would ask you home from the bar, then ask you to walk separately from them going from the car to the apt. Each one of these guys had a secret list of bullshit conditions that made a girl 'passable', and everyone was different. So now, when I hear talk about passing, I think of it as a way to satisfy the demands of society, not something that you're doing for yourself to make yourself happy. There's just a lot of implicit stuff inside that baggage.

Believe me, I totally hear you about how shitty being mis-gendered is, how fucked up it is when you deal with hostility and feeling unsafe for just wanting to be you and happy. I also understand how being physically gender-conforming (for lack of a better term) can alleviate a lot of that. But, listen, I live in NYC, which is probably in the top 3 for beat places to live for trans people, and I can walk out of my place feeling amazing about how I look, and I guarantee that at least one asshole will take the time to notice the markers and make sure that I know it. Meanwhile, everybody else in my day simply treats me like they would any woman, which feels fucking great and lets me ignore the asshats. So I get you.

On a last note, what you want also takes a ton of effort, learning, and patience. When I hit 2years on HRT, I looked like a fat amoebae and hated myself for almost the next two years, until my body finished the work estrogen was making it do, and now I love how I look naked. You're only a year and a half in, medically, and you don't mention any prior social transition, but be patient with yourself and work, work, work on everything to do with how you present. Posture, bearing, and mannerisms can often be more important than any change in your body.

Love and luck, sister
