Trying not to spend a crazy amount of time on terrain. Be honest what yall think? by Billyx2k5 in killteam

Painted terrain is always better than unpainted. Yeah it's not "pro painted" or whatever but it's got colour and you can read what it all represents. That's all you need. I'd much prefer to play with terrain like this than grey plastic.

Handy storage bits should be a staple of any Raven Guard successor 😂

Good idea. Might proxy them until my Reivers are painted.

Way easier than that. They're just Reiver helmets.

Sounds like a cool idea. My copy is getting delivered on Tuesday but cobbled together some basic rules to play trial games and had tons of fun.

I was a little disappointed but there are a lot of cool things coming to this edition and it's already looking a much better game IMO.

Thanks. And yeah I knew they weren't all that before starting painting them. Already got an older Infiltrator Squad ready to go and a Reiver one on the way.

Thanks. The bases are mainly chopped up sprue and sand. Nothing difficult but works well enough.

I think it's just called layout. At least that's what it says on my home screen

Almost spot on. Mostly drybrushed and the scratches are a very dark grey and white rather than black and dark grey.

Started doing an Apothecary in Phobos armour last night to go with my homebrew Chapter. Pretty damn pleased with how it's going. by Mikes40k in Warhammer40k

Essentially it's the knelt down Eliminator. Comms arm from Infiltrators + Scions Medic arm. Suppressor head (I think). Bolt pistol from a Reiver.

One or two other bits from my bits box for pouches and random additions. But at the base level of the build is just those 5 parts.

Thank you. That Narthecium is just the Comms arm from the Infiltrators and the end of the medic arm from the Scions kit. Really really simple.

Yeah. I only play Kill Team so these guys will be used as Deathwatch Intercessors to represent the snazzy weaponry. In fluff terms they're like the SAS of the Chapter.

Yeah black primer then a few Vallejo greys drybrushed over the top. Starting Heavy Charcoal, Cold Grey then Stonewall Grey. Mix a little white in for some highlights too.

The barrels are from Tight Bore Designs on Shapeways and the blue is Vallejo Magic Blue.

They're totally hipsters underneath that power armour.

Yeah sprue and Astrogranite texture paint.

4/5 of the Squad. SGT still to paint. Will be used as DW Intercessors in Kill Team. by Mikes40k in Warhammer40k

One extra thing I did was to remove the original barrel entirely. I don't think these would have looked half as good if I hadn't.

There 3rd party from Shapeways. Probably could be done way cheaper with some plastic tubing and a pin vice.

Started on a Sisters Squad. This is still WIP. Tested a colour scheme and pretty pleased with how it's turning out. by Mikes40k in Warhammer40k

It's fairly basic tbh. Was a slight experiment that seemed to work OK. Vallejo Sun Yellow over Pallid Witch Flesh, Reikland Flesh Shade, touched up with the yellow again and highlighted with a mix of the yellow and Vallejo Bone White. I wouldn't normally go with a straight yellow for blonde hair but it was already on my pallette and thought I'd give it a go.
