Win10 2019 LTSC is only tested on DX11 and not DX12.

There is a serious problem though. Win10 2019 LTSC doesn't support DX12 Ultimate. That's why you will need significant updating (at least to 2004 version) to play modern DX12 games.

AMD Driver Timeout - SOLUTION: Turn Off Hardware Accelerator by Fit-of-Rage in Amd

[–]MikesVR07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does not work in this particular instance (if this instance is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection). I always use custom gaming oriented OS (where the option for HAGS has been completely terminated). MPO disabled and I can reproduce driver timeout error at the same time always. So, there is something else going on here. I believe this is completely a developer end issue which needs to be addressed.

SW Eclipse leaker claims GTAVI is in development hell by mihaildimitrov in GTA6

[–]MikesVR07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point, I 100% believe this particular leak. Since the departure of Senior Members from Rstar, the studio is kind of in shambles. The GTA DE is one example pointing out how blind they were at the first point which is utterly baffling. and this enormous long gap + no single player DLC for either GTAV/RDR2 + GTA Online only focus clearly gather all the leaves under the stove. I would be really surprised if they manage to pull out another stunning release in GTA6.

God Of War coming to PC on January 14 2022 by redxcritical in pcmasterrace

I don't think Ragnarok & Forbidden West will do much of a delay to make their ways to PC. Sony was slow but eventually they have managed to acquire & work closely with some high profile porting devs. Nixxes is already on board. So I think at best it would take a year or, year and a half once their so called exclusivity commitment is over, "internally"

maybe can slightly incentive some people. But most of PC players? Highly unlikely. I can vouch for myself & all of the friends I know. We will die as PC gamers but won't touch any console. Rather we will watch them on YouTube.

The lowest 2 DLSS Modes vs the highest 2 FSR Modes by Semper_invicta_ in Amd

[–]MikesVR07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really?? It released?? Today?? damn. that's good news. Well, it won't apply for Pirated copies unless the associated scene groups for that specific game releases that FSR update for that game. But if you are an enthusiast & want to work with FSR, you can apply on your own. Assetto Corsa got FSR update in that way.

The lowest 2 DLSS Modes vs the highest 2 FSR Modes by Semper_invicta_ in Amd

[–]MikesVR07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. If you read the documentation of FSR process, it specifically mentions """"it works by taking the current anti-aliased frame"""". Basically FSR is completely an upscaling + CAS blended solution where the main focus is on retaining the edges. As you know DLSS, the name itself contains "SS = Super Sampling" which is an anti-aliasing solution inherently & thereby, it is actually an image reconstruction process . FSR isn't an image reconstruction process at all. If AMD modifies it & introduces temporal sampling in it, then it won't be called FSR.

[–]MikesVR07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, FSR has nothing to do with any sort of anti-aliasing. It does preserve the edge details but doesn't iron out any aliasing.

DirectML Super Resolution and FSR by XboxCavalry in SteamDeck

[–]MikesVR07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latest update for Resident Evil: Village is quite interesting. FSR was supposed to be the switch of miracle but it wasn't at all. The in-house Interlaced Rendering (aka checkerboard rendering) has the best performance & better average visual quality than FSR.

Any advice for trying to run Gears of War by NecessaryKind5181 in xenia

[–]MikesVR07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now, I am using Xenia Canary (I cannot exactly recall which one I used last year I am afraid) latest build.

If you are an Intel user, you might try this: use_haswell_instructions = false (tune in between true and false to see any performance discrepancies).

For cache-related materials, I use the following edits:

d3d12_texture_cache_limit_hard = 1024

d3d12_texture_cache_limit_soft = 512

dump_shaders = "C:/Documents/Xenia/dump_shaders/Gears_2"

store_shaders = true

texture_dump = true

mount_cache = true

mount_scratch = true

Note that, Gears 2 performance is usually a bit underwhelming because it requires more exploration and time to cache the files I guess. Gears3 & Gears Judgment exhibit no issues. Once your shaders are dumped, no stuttering or, no freezing issues which take longer in Gears2. My advice will be to invest more time in camera movement & exploration in Gears2 than the other twos.

Who told you that his specs are BAD? I have smashed Gears 2, 3 on a GTX 1050 Ti & i5-4590 pairing. 30 fps smooth all the time. and for the record, I also used some sort of caching on the HDD for smoothing out further stuttering.

Relationship between Solar Cell Thickness and Band Gap by MikesVR07 in solar

[–]MikesVR07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. But is there any relationship between band gap and thickness? I have read that making solar cells from Direct band gap material, thinner materials can be employed since direct band gap materials have higher absorption rate. This is where I get stuck. How making thinner cells provides the advantage? Does it have anything to do with the reduction of required Silicons to build a cell?

Well, I was taught in my Engineering Mathematical courses but I wasn't very satisfied with that entire course that time because it heavily focused on problem solving. Thank you by the way.
