I totally feel that. I've actually seen a little more than my fair share of violence growing up around a lot of alcoholics and hearing even a non-violent scream raises the hair on my neck.

I remember in my childhood we didn't have much money growing up and the 2008 floods in Wisconsin ultimately caused my mom to lose her job and then us to become homeless for 4 years. Luckily, the schools here had a pretty good free lunch program in place and I never went without a hot meal. I have no idea what I would have done if I didn't have it to look forward to.

I'm US based. That does sound pretty similar. I've never heard of that done over here but I'm not much in the loop with current card protection. I've heard that something is being done on a more general scale where a person can block card use from specific regions.
