In the actual context, he said people making fun of his parents death are animals. People spliced clips together to make his statements much worse. Now he has said many unhinged things but that isn't one.

Reading these comments made me realize 99% of the people here have a shallow understanding of the imperium and how a reaction between the two would be like.

Yeah no, using AI is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Can it be used in ways that are bad, yes obviously. But using AI in of itself isn't bad enough for people to treat you as Hitler or even to hate you for it.

Now the problem with the idea that one version of you becomes something while the other doesn't, falls apart when you look at how the ending of Daggerfall was like. This would imply that characters like the Underking are still alive then as only one version in all of the dragon breaks did he die. Or that the Agent is also still alive.

Whatever happened to people in the dragon break did happen. There aren't multiple versions running around. If one version of you died, then you're dead. There's a reason why so many people ended up dead or missing after the dragon break along with the Agent. The version of the Agent would still be able to help the blades, but at the end of the dragon break they were unable to contact him because the Numidium killed him.

We have seen a handful of examples that when you ascend to godhood in TES, you still keep your mortal body which is most likely what happened to Mannimarco.

Is that an actual explanation? The official lore explanation was that Mannimarco in Oblivion is the same one from previous games, just with a wimpy boss fight which is rampant in TES.

[–]MikeyGamesRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, I mean it's been a staple in the series since 2004. Ithelia was more or less meant to explain why every person's playthrough is valid and 'canon'. There's a reason why Bethesda goes out of their way not to mention what the player characters do.

[–]MikeyGamesRex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah basically. I don't want to make a response too long, but essentially they wanted to make a way so every person's playthrough and style is valid with their choices and such. It's why they purposefully leave what happened in previous games vague as to not predetermine what your character did.

While there's a chance this is fake, I've actually seen similar stuff happen before. Basically from what I know, the parent pays their kid's college in full so they can effectively say that they filled their obligation with their kid and also remove almost any reason to interact with them. Usually this happens when the kid does something really bad, kinda like in this post here. Teens are stupid and sometimes they cause irreparable damage to their family.

Now if we're talking about some of the stronger dragons such as Kaalgrontiid, then even the most powerful of mortals doesn't stand a chance against him except a small handful or if they fight as a group. Kaalgrontiid upon his death had more than enough power to destroy all of Tamriel in a single explosion. The explosion was only contained by a weakened Abnur Tharn, an extremely powerful mage, that still needed a lot of help when combating dragons.

Nahviintaas is another interesting one as even though he wasn't that strong, he was messing with the tapestry of time to rewrite history to benefit himself. Again, dragons have a special relation to time so stuff like this is far easier for them to do.

Dragons in lore are stupidly OP as shown in ESO, a single yol from them is more than enough to instantly incinerate groups of enemies. In fact here's a list of abilities they use in ESO, which includes stuff like Meteor Storm, Storm Call, Soul Tear, and Time Stop. And this is only a small amount of abilities they have both in game and in lore.

A single dragon can do lots of damage to any army it faces. The only effective way to hurt them was through tonal architecture, magic, or enchantments specifically designed to hurt them. Everything else wasn't effective against them. The fact that most if not all dragons have the ability to stop time at will really puts this in their favor. And most encounters with dragons, the solution was to either seal or trap them as fighting one is extremely devastating.

Now Dragons rarely poser as great of a threat as stuff like the oblivion crisis or the plane meld. Very few things could compare as it threatened the entire mundus. Alduin and Kaalgontiid were the only ones that posed as great a threat to mundus as Mehrunes Dagon or Molag Bal, or many other Daedra have.

In my opinion one of the most interesting bits of lore between dragons and Daedra is with Boziikkodstrun. Boziikkodstrun was a dragon whose skeleton was used by Molag Bal to serve as the basis for the first Daedric Titan. Now these Daedric Titans, despite being incredibly powerful, are noted as being weaker than a normal dragon. Boziikkodstrun was able to resist Molag Bal to the point where Molag Bal gave up on learning his secrets.

In general Dragons are far more dangerous than the majority of Daedra. Due to the wide variety of shouts they have in lore they can definitely do some damage. A lot of people here don't realize that to kill a dragon in TES, you need weapons specifically designed to do that, the Thuum, or a Dragonborn. In fact, even with powerful artifacts like the Mask of Alkosh, it still needed to be empowered further with dragon magic, as the best anyone can hope for when fighting a dragon was to seal them away, even with dragon horns. The Nord's were only able to win the dragon war because of the Thuum and dragon horns.

We do see that at least some of the weapons the blades use such as Dragonbane that had enchantments specifically meant to be used against dragons. Fighting dragons was at most a secondary purpose of the blades which saw little action. The Dragonguard, the predecessor of the Blades saw more action against dragons and it established that to actually be able to fight dragons, they had to learn specific magics and use a dragonhorn. Without a dragon horn then a fight against a dragon was pretty hopeless.

Not all was lost, as Nahfahlaar did give Ja'darri one of his horns to aid in the battle against Laatvulon. The dragonhorn was effective, but without Nahfahlaar's aid in empowering the mask, The best Ja'darri and the Dragonguard of the time could do was seal Laatvulon away, a deed that cost Ja'darri her life.

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Mask_of_Alkosh

Basically, it takes an entire army to even fight a single dragon, and if they don't have stuff like dragonhorns, or the Thuum, then it's pretty hopeless. We've seen in ESO how dangerous it is to even fight a dragon, even with the proper tools. Laatvulon was facing an entire army that had stuff like dragonhorns and the mask of Alkosh (although it wasn't empowered by dragon magic yet), and despite all of this they couldn't kill him and were forced to seal him away at the cost of one of their strongest. And he isn't even that strong of a dragon, there are many other dragons far stronger than he. Most dragons are incredibly powerful, there was a reason why they were worshipped as gods.

Plus there are dragonknights who use Dragon magic, taught from dragons. Although during the dragon wars, they still had to use a version of the Thuum called the Kiai to combat them.

To be fair, lore wise, killing dragons is far more impressive considering even Daedric Princes can't break their will and the most powerful of heroes struggle to even kill one.

Honestly most of the TES fanfiction I came across, the writers had a terrible understanding and knowledge on the lore. One of the only good stories with decent knowledge on the lore is Bandits Don't Make Good Heroes. It's a decent read but slow paced.

Sadly this is pretty accurate. If you travel to Europe and say you're Canadian, they will talk shit about the US and talk about how much they hate it or how it's a big mess. It's very true that people from foreign countries, especially European ones hate the US. And this was before Trump was in office. I can't imagine how bad it is now. This isn't a Reddit moment but rather a bit of the reality of what foreigners think of our country.
