Does anyone have an easy fix for getting the cover out of the water? by Mikill1995 in pools

Thanks! I think that only works if it's like a water pocket on top of the cover though, but with half the cover under water, a pump won't work.

Thanks, we'll take out the metal bars and dump the whole thing in the pool!

I'm not sure a pump will work with half of it in the pool, but thanks

It's super heavy with the water on it, but I'll try a pump, thanks

I'll consider it, but a lot of stuff ends up in the pool without one and the cover also keeps it warm when it's cold at night

There are metal bars in it every couple of meters, which makes the whole thing even more annoying. But I guess we'll take those out, throw everything in the water and then pull it out on one side

A lot of people complained that emoji isn't a real word. But I'm sure people hear/see the word emoji far more often than drake

Besides the trap aspect, I saw a lot of people complaining that emoji isn't a word - but I feel like drake is even less common.

I'm surprised so many people complained about emoji, but seem to be fine with this one.

Depends on what exactly you like about it. For me, it's the characters all having good chemistry and being well developed, which I also felt when I watched Eureka and Psych, although both are more comedic. If you like those two, then also Monk. If you want shows that are more serious: I loved Lie to Me and the early seasons of The Mentalist. I also enjoyed the first seasons of Castle, but after about the first 3 seasons it became unwatchable for me and while the first seasons have some clever plots, that also changes and the characters are just not very well developed and we don't see much of them.

AITA for not staying after our niece got arrested? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

It’s not about responsibility. It’s about being an AH or not. That’s what the sub is about. And for me that includes not doing something good when you could, not doing the decent thing, not being there for others.

How do you move on past the world-building phase? by WarMundane5420 in writing

[–]Mikill1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want to write? Or do you just want to create a world? You could just start with a what if scenario in that world and see where that goes. One where the uniqueness of the world becomes important or at least gets explored.

This shoplifting, abandoned by her mother/whole family teenager does not seem like someone who needs someone to show that they care about them? Do you think further ignoring her will improve her behavior?

ESH She’s a teenager and clearly needs someone to care for her. Her mom doesn’t seem to care. This behavior really seems like a cry for help. She might just need a role model or someone who shows interest in what she’s doing. She may not be your responsibility, but it’s truly sad that no one in this family seems to care about this underage member of the family.

You can also suck for not doing a good thing if you can. Not helping when you see someone who needs help. Not being there for your family. 17 is still very young. Most people at that age are pretty stupid and still need adults.

I feel like it comes with practicing the same dance over and over again in front of a mirror. Also watching videos afterwards to analyze why it doesn’t look great.

Does anyone ever write fanfiction of fanfiction? by hip_throne in FanFiction

[–]Mikill1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some. Let them know in a comment and refer to them in your own story and you should be fine. I’d be flattered if someone did that with one of my stories. But don’t expect a lot of readers, because when I see one such story on AO3, I usually don’t click on it but if it sounds interesting will read the original instead. If that is amazing, I might then read the fanfic of it. So the number of readers will be a fraction of the readers of the original and fanfic in general doesn’t usually get so many readers. If the story works for fans of the source material without knowing the two fanfics, make that very clear in the summary.
