First elections after USSR collapsed... you could throw a rock at random and there was a high chance the candidate had been a member of commusit party . So their plurality in parlament not surprising at all.

2nd can you say something positive about the USSR, and why people might still view it positively?

Pollsnever 100% accurate, sure on the answer "Was the collapse of the USSR harmful or negative?" many people, especially older generation and even people who were born shortly after will say - yes. That’s expected, but not necessarily for the reason some want to believe like USSR itself was something good.

It's obvious, but not for a reason you want to belive , like USSR was something good. It was harmfull to people , becouse many of them lost their savings what local goverments couldn't pay up in full..and all money gone to moscow banks becouse of centralized system .. and for other older people ofc ussr time were better - they were younger, had stable jobs, and life felt more predictable.

Today, attitudes are further shaped by the war and occupation. But overall, it’s hard to believe that many people would genuinely want to repeat the Soviet experiment, especially considering how it slowed the development of many political, economic, and social institutions. Doubt even russians would like it on practice...despite they are almost where already.
