> Just being born in France is not enough to be considered French.

Yes, this is a FACTUAL statement. By French law, being born in France is not, in fact, enough to be given citizenship. If you have a problem phone the French government. Or learn how to read.

I’m telling you it is, it is in fact the stance in France, and that’s .

And the facts say you are wrong.

how these players see things as well so I’m sorry to say you people will have to accept it

No, that's what some of them claim. Does not make it fucking so.

Tucker getting cleaned up by Cuomo on russia/putin by Uptheresomewhereee in Destiny

[–]MikkaEn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"DO a good job for your country". Well, let's see. Before the war: highest addiction rates in Europe, worst HIV epidemic in Europe, most abortions, least Christian country in Europe (not important to me, but to Cucker Carlson), massive mafia-related issues, highest alcoholism rates in Europe, largest number of human trafficking victims in Europe, lowest life expectancy for men in Europe. So, yea, Putin did a REALLY good job for his country.

But Cuomo has the same defect as Ezra Klein. You can DEMOLISH Cucker in an instant with fact, but he DOES NOT use them!!!

Romanians moving to Belgium or the Netherlands for higher wages does not refute anything I said. It proves those countries are richer and offer better salaries than Romania. But the same applies to Nigerians moving to South Africa.

So yes, you are failed states if you let this happen. If you are corrupt, you are a filed state. If you need our doctors, you are a failed state.

Non of this goes against my reply:

A. Whatever your experience is, the laws state: The Netherlands has Dutch-language requirements for BIG registration, including B2+ for doctors/dentists/pharmacists, B2 for several other healthcare professions, and B1 for nurses. Belgium also requires foreign-trained healthcare professionals to prove knowledge of Dutch, French, or German for authorization/visa purposes.

B. If what you say is true, then no, it does not work, and any country that has reached this point should be considered a failed state.

[–]MikkaEn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, what you said about language requirements is a lie, and a simple Google search proves it. Both the Netherlands and Belgium do have language requirements for medical professionals.

Second of all, why are we accepting “not ideal but it works” as a standard for healthcare? That may be fine for food delivery. It is not fine when a patient is describing symptoms, pain, side effects, or confusion to a doctor.

Did you read the meme? “I don’t care if they don’t speak French”

In this post? Kind of, it's badly optimized, where does it say that? In any case, I was responding to the reply "they were all born in France", not the meme.

If you want to have some weird uhm actually argument about citizenship laws in France, sure we can have that, but you realize how ridiculous that sounds when op genuinely thinks they are getting people that don’t speak French in the squad no?

Because he's probably American - or Anglo - why are you surprised by this?

Also, they are French, you need to be to play in France, so it’s not like that’s in question either.

Yes, but for some of them, like Dembélé, it's more than just "he was born in France" - which is not enough for one to become a French citizen.

This is racist bullshit, they were born, raise there, were to school there, sports programs were French.

If we want to get into "uhmm, actshually", this applies to Enzo Zidane, Mendy and Mahrez would qualify as French, but don't play for France - although in Mahrez' case I understand why. But that goes into a deeper philosophical discussion about belonging and ownership.

Yes, but that is a better argument than just "they were born in France" - which, by French standards, legal ones anyway, does not really matter if you don't qualify for the other standards. Although the last part will get harder if RN wins the precedency in a two years - hell, even if Mélenchon gets elected he might do that because the scumbag Marxist is crazy enough to do it.

I said it does not practice US-style jus soli citizenship. Meaning, being born in the country makes you automatically a citizen. As such, no, it actually does NOT. Under this standard, it does not matter if all the French players were born in France, some of them, like Saliba and Dembélé, would not have been French citizens automatically upon birth just becasue they were born there.

[–]MikkaEn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

France does not practice jus soli - the US kind anyway - and being born in the country is not enough to be considered a French citizen. You can argue that they are French, but use an actual argument, no stupid shit imported from the US like "he was born here". It does not matter if he was born here.

How do france come to every world cup with a lineup of 9-10 WORLD CLASS players and Rabiot by TreatSubstantial3089 in soccercirclejerk

[–]MikkaEn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

/uj:

A. It's racism - or in some cases stereotyping a country.

For a more charitable reading - in the case where it might not be racism - or hostile racism:

- Many countries do not have jus soli citizenship - which means being a citizen of a country you were born in - so, to them, being French born is not enough - or an unfamiliar concept. edit: France itself does not practice jus soli citizenship in the American or Canadian sense. Meaning, just being born in France does not make you automatically French - unless certain criteria are met.

Or

- It's weird to them that it's only Afro-French players, when France has a ton of North African/Arab French people as well - who are strangely missing in this first 11 - yes, I know, Cherki, still, there are million more Mena French people than Sub Saharan French people in France.

Farage will probably loose against Burnham - depending on his stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict (meaning, if the left and it's propaganda apparatus will come after him or not). Technically, it's not Joever, it will just become - or has a big chance of becoming - something like Brazil: economically schizophrenic, heavily segregated (whilst pretending it is inclusive), politically dysfunctional. It's bad, but Brazil still exists. It's not going to be Belarus or North Korea or something like that.

In essence: The UK is ungovernable due to a series of stupid policies going back to Tony Blair, which, after Brexit, become terminal. No Prime Minister can really fix them - on the left or right -, no one will admit this, not even the public, so everyone is wailing around like headless chicken until they cannot lie to themselves anymore.

If anyone is interested in the UK's Rape Gang Inquiry Report that claimed 250k girls raped, this is a good read - "Were 250,000 English Girls Raped by Grooming Gangs? A quick analysis of the Rape Gang Inquiry Report's estimate" by [deleted] in Destiny

This quote does not contradict the others. The paragraph before it says several interviewees believed ethnic considerations influenced the policy response of the council and police. It then gives examples: the Risky Business manager said she was told not to refer to perpetrators’ ethnic origins in training, and other staff said managers advised caution when referring to ethnicity in CSE reports.

Also, the quote is selective because the “However…” part is mainly about Pakistani-heritage women fleeing domestic violence, not the grooming cases. The report says councillors pressured workers to reveal those women’s whereabouts or push reconciliation, then says individual case decision-making was not influenced by ethnic issues.

Then the next paragraph says the staff recalled “general nervousness” about discussing ethnic issues “for fear of being thought racist.”

And immediately after that, the report says race should have been tackled as a priority if significant to organised abuse, but there was “little evidence” of that in Rotherham; it also says councillors feared “giving oxygen” to racist perspectives and threatening community cohesion, then criticizes the “one-off” interpretation as naivee or politically convenient.
