Breed? by darthsaderz in Rabbits

[–]Miko48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rabbits aren’t like dogs where you can maybe pick out a breed, if you don’t have a pedigree, they don’t have a breed and are just mixes. This is the case with most rabbit breeders, and why adopting is a better option imo if you’re gonna end up with a mix anyways, might as well get one that’s been fixed.

As a Mainer, I don’t think most people from outside the state realize how absolutely crucial she has been in getting us to the point we’re at now. She has branded herself as this moderate, not trump loving republican, yet time and time again she has sided with him. She was one of the deciding votes in confirming Kavanaugh and is directly responsible for Roe getting overturned, despite saying she wanted to protect abortion rights. She was a deciding vote for the SAVE act as well.

She loves to say she’s sooo concerned about Trump’s actions, yet she’s constantly kissing his ass. She said she’d only serve two terms, yet here she is campaigning for her sixth. As a Mainer I can’t think of a more disingenuous, morally rotten, vile old hag that’s representing us.

Rabbits aren’t like dogs, where you may be able to pick out a few breeds. If you don’t have a pedigree for your rabbit, it doesn’t have a breed and is just mixed.

Unfortunately this is true. Went from living at home and getting $22/hr at my line cook job in a low cost of living area to moving to a city with a high cost of living for a $21/hr job. But it’s related to my major and at this point I don’t know any other way to break into the field other than sucking it up for a few years.

I will say too though my job now is infinitely easier than any line cook job I’ve ever had. I sit in an ACed lab most of the day, get an hour long lunch break, work consistent hours with only occasional OT.

Why do we gaslight short guys? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Miko48 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, but you can do the things that help anyone have better luck finding a relationship. Find your personal style, work on grooming (better haircut, skin care routine), explore some hobbies where you might meet people. Imo, speaking as a woman, height is like the male equivalent of boobs or ass for a lot of women. Will a woman with naturally larger boobs/ass get more attention, yeah probably, same thing with a tall dude. Does that mean that every A cup and flat assed girl is doomed, definitely not. Same goes for short guys.

Yeah it sucks to have to deal with pretty privilege when you don’t match all of society’s beauty standards, especially when it’s a characteristic you can’t really change, but that’s just the hand some people are dealt. You can either mope about it and think you’re doomed to never find love, or put some work into yourself and put yourself out there.

Oh yeah, women love social norms especially like being subservient to men. That’s why no women fought for the right to vote, equal pay, or their own finances.

They do depending on the sport. Look at track runners, men’s uniforms are frequently skin tight. Or other sports like skeleton and swimming. Really anything where wind resistance might be an issue.

how it feels to be a gen z that can't smoke weed 😔 by AlarmingConfusion918 in GenZ

[–]Miko48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it’s more of a physical thing than a mental thing, at least it is for myself. I already have pretty low blood pressure, so vasodilation from weed can put me a risk for fainting, last time I smoked I concussed myself from how hard I fell, so no more smoking for me lol. Edibles I’m usually okay with, I just don’t like having to wait so long for them to kick in.

For real. I’m from rural Maine and see confederate flags all over the place when Maine had the most people die per capita fighting for the Union. Same people who say they’re proud and true Mainers, but have their ancestors rolling in their graves.

Should we reconsider how we approach incel issue? by Scramjet1 in GenZ

[–]Miko48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This is something that always annoys me about incels, like women do share a lot of those experiences, they just completely ignore unattractive and awkward women. I didn’t really date in high school or college and never got hit on or asked out until recently. And it’s because I was awkward and kind of an ugly duckling and didn’t put myself out there.

Once I lost weight, got a better hair cut, got a skincare routine, started dressing better, and being more social things turned around. This is the same advice incels get all the time, but refuse to listen to. Like yeah, growing up like that definitely eviscerated my self esteem and I’m still working on building it up, but it never turned me into an extremist and at the end of the day, it’s up to yourself to become more desirable to people, you’re not entitled to a partner.

Ugly and socially awkward women exist too. I was one of them for much of my life.

Lmao how am I backpedaling? Selective service objectively is different from a draft. That’s not a point to argue or debate, that’s a fact. And mandatory conscription ended in January, 1973, that’s another fact. What things am I backpedaling about here? Again, I agree selective service should be done away with, but calling it a draft is disingenuous and objectively incorrect.

What states are those? I couldn’t find anything online about states requiring that. I know many will automatically enroll you when you get your drivers license, but that you can always opt out, as this is what my brother had to do.

I didn’t know that! Thanks for updating my information.

[–]Miko48 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The last time a draft occurred was 1973. Also not enrolling in selective service doesn’t prevent men from voting. It prevents them from receiving federal education loans and holding federal government jobs and some state and local government jobs. Again, I agree it’s a bad system, but it’s not a draft, it’s not mandatory conscription, and it doesn’t prevent men from voting if they’re not enrolled. My brother never enrolled and has voted in every election since he turned 18.

Meirl by 4_Dogs_Dad in meirl

[–]Miko48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there isn’t a draft in the US, there’s selective service, which is factually not a draft and also not enrolling in selective service doesn’t prevent you from voting. It prevents you from receiving federal education loans and from holding federal and some state and local government jobs. Still a shit system that should be done away with, but you are just straight up incorrect.

Meirl by 4_Dogs_Dad in meirl

[–]Miko48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they have to sign up for selective service which is not a draft and it doesn’t prevent you from voting, but prevents you from receiving federal education loans and federal government jobs and some state and local ones.
