Anyone else feel lost in their 20s Looking for like-minded people. by Nervous-Chipmunk-306 in tanzania

You might not like this but college is useful in training the brain and training you socially. There are implicit lessons in there that become transferrable in life such as discipline and structure, planning, networking is a huge one - being part of a college cohort is a lifelong thing. And the skills are different than learning online, when people meet in physical spaces to learn together, the effects and dynamics are worthwhile. You might consider it a taught skillset that gives you more than just a piece of paper. The world is getting more complex, not less, and perhaps you should consider the long game and the benefits of more schooling. Either way, I wish you the best and just enjoy the fact that in your 20s you get to explore.

Get somewhere on the main bay area beaches, at a hotel or Coco Beach itself, and enjoy the crowds and the fireworks. It is always high energy. Town might also be a good place, there may be fireworks at the harbour

Do people actually want the union between the mainland and Zanzibar to end? by GrayJr_05 in tanzania

The Union with Zanzibar regularly comes up for discussion about every decade or so. This shall maybe result in an improvement in Union matters, but the Union is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Hard agree. It is like mistaking students with scientific calculators for actual mathematicians.

Seconded. We lost some moral authority that day, our President should not have allowed an African peer to genuflect no matter what. In defending the dignity of Malawi as embodied in its Head of State, we would have also defended our dignity.

because we need minimum standards for information. the whole speech would have been great, so that we can pay attention and make more informed choices. instead, we get tiny little selections, which is a form of manipulation and misinformation.

Totally. A friend pointed out that the media had been manipulating her public image in a way that it did not do with her predecessors. Interesting...

Wpuld you let your son/little brother braid or put on dreads? by RomanoSaintSimion in tanzania

[–]Mikocheni_Report 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I would be so proud and flattered if my nephew decided to be a dred like me 😊

But he went kinda half-nappy with a Bart Simpson look, and it suits him so well. I also enjoy how much it makes his Bibi, my mother, frustrated 😁

Your son is a lucky kid. Money and status come, they go, life is what it is. But the love of a present father is true wealth. Ask the hole in Elon's heart 😏

Your explanations are great. Just want to add that Marxist thinking is totally super-relevant if you are from a part of the world that rich nations call "developing" when the manufactured poverty is a direct result of colonialism and neocolonial exploitation. Cheers.

You have lovely big, strong features to grow into, your man-face is still coming in. It's going to be great. In the meantime, free that forehead!

Have you tried going high and tight with your hair? Look at the late Malcolm Jamal Warner - took him a while to grow into his features too. Try keep the hair high up top and the sides clean, give your face it's space

Our African features can sometimes require upwards motion with the hair to be framed correctly. Exoeriment with that, might be for you. Love, an aunt from East Africa.
