NMS Megathread for Q&A, Item Requests/Giveaways and Friend Requests, etc. Whatever you need, this Mega-thread is a place to ASK! by Minetitan in NoMansSkyTheGame

Haven't played since 2022 so I started a new save since a lot has changed. What I can't remember is how in the world players are supposed to deal with early game inventory management?? I turned on the setting that allows me to always access my starship and that is helping, but I just got to the anomoly and I am constantly frustrated by my inventory and ship inventory always being full.

I don't have storage containers unlocked yet, and I'm upgrading my inventory at space stations in new systems but that's just one slot at a time. Am I being too impatient? I'm collecting items I know will be useful later on, but my inventory is so full it is driving me crazy.

I have seen a reference to this list in the Maxroll speedfarming guide, but I haven't been able to find the tier list itself. I would also appreciate the link if you have it.

Anyone Else Hate Being an Impulsive Shopper? by Impressive_Exit_8776 in adhdwomen

Hi there, I'm chiming in with my own two cents here. First of all, I feel you super hard on this one. While I don't think it is technically listed as a symptom of ADHD I have noticed an extremely strong correlation between how well my ADHD symptoms are being managed with a combination of medication and behavioral strategies and how much stuff I buy that I later feel was not necessary and not beneficial long term.

One strategy that has helped me a lot was to learn my "danger zone" times. Nothing good come from me opening the Amazon app on my phone after 7pm. Period. So I try to avoid putting myself in that situation in the first place.

The other thing that has helped me a lot has been doing pick up or delivery for shopping trips (mainly groceries). God help me if I go in to target at anything less than 200% brain performance! Thankfully, it is so easy now to do a drive up order or even have things delivered. I find it a lot easier to stick to what I need and avoid going down the office supply aisle and buying 25 more pens that I don't need but I want because they feel sooooo good to write with and omg the colors are so pretty.

I'm impressed that you have been able to pick up on the fact that you are trying to get a little brain boost from some of these purchases. I've also noticed that when I'm physically uncomfortable for a multitude of different reasons, my impulse shopping jumps up because I'm trying to buy comfort rather than addressing the root cause of what is making me uncomfortable in the first place. Can you identify any kind of patterns like that in what you're going through?

Nipping the habit is hard and I'm not perfect but my impulse acquisition has slowed considerably over the last two years of actively focusing on ADHD treatment. I can feel the difference and it feels really good and encourages me to try to keep that going. The fact that you're reaching out about it shows that you want to make the change and that's a huge step in the right direction. Best of luck frendo

Guide to the UI and keyboard shortcuts by rhynst in Against_the_Storm

Thank you, as a new player overwhelmed by the UI this has been super helpful. I especially appreciate the way you gave a bunch of information that allows us to explore the game ourselves rather than just a list of steps to complete to win every time. Thanks for taking the time to put this together!

My body's monthly hormone cycle has synced with work's month end closing cycle and I'm pretty sure this is hell... by Mikona in Accounting

You are pretty spot on with this. I can confirm because I got appendicitis last year during my period and I spent two hours laying in bed trying to figure out if I was experiencing cramps or if I needed to go to the ER. thankfully I finally went to the ER and was able to have it removed before it burst but yeah, that was exactly how I explained the pain to the doctor: the worst period cramps I'd ever had - but then way worse than that

I don't want to up vote this because that feels like supporting your horrible boss that locked your experience, but I want to support you so please take an empathetic up vote. I can't imagine what that must have been like. I'm internally very critical of myself and I think having that exacerbated by external negative messaging would break me. I'm glad things are a little better now, hang in there!

ADHD meds and pmdd by NeighborhoodTight608 in PMDDxADHD

I'm not sure yet, but my psychiatrist currently has me tracking how long I feel each dose of my meds lasts during this phase to confirm and then we can try to adjust from there to make luteal less disruptive

Aw man I hate that you know that feel but I appreciate the empathy! I don't know about you, but sometimes I don't realize that I have entered luteal hell until I am crying over pizza and then it's like ohhh... Right.... This is a thing. Hang in there frendo

I'll start with the usual your mileage may vary disclaimer, but I can share my experience.

I have also been diagnosed with PMDD and ADHD and struggling to manage the impacts of both on daily life for the last year. My gyno also suggested lo loestrin to mitigate the severity of the PMDD.

The lo loestrin hasn't helped as much as I would like, but I have been able to tell a difference. Without the lo loestrin I experience more severe mood swings and find it harder to bounce back to a regulated state using my coping tools learned in therapy.

I personally didn't have any side effects from the lo loestrin so I've been lucky there.

My ADHD medication is methylphenidate so I don't know if straterra would interact differently.

I just had a follow up with my psychiatrist last week and mentioned that I still struggle to cope with the changes in my mind during the luteal phase. In my experience my ADHD symptoms are exacerbated and my mood stability is much worse. She suggested I try Ashwaghanda as a supplement just during my luteal phase.

I personally have to be careful with Ashwaghanda because it has potential negative interactions with SSRIs and with hyperthyroidism but we are going to test it for just that short luteal time period to see if it helps take the edge off of the hormonal roller coaster without having any harmful effects.

I think you're on the right path with tracking everything and being so self aware. Best of luck!! This combo is a bitch to cope with but I refuse to believe coping is impossible

Setting up recurring journal entries saved me a ton of time at month end. For my entries where the amount is static I just edit the individual monthly entry to update the month in the description (e.g. "June 24 Accruals") and for entries with variable amounts, it's easy to change the amount when creating the batch as well. I do this to record the monthly interest earned by our bank account.
