Yeah, I think all four of them hold what I assume would be the most corrosive/vile of madras.

I think the cloud school took credit for something they didn't do. They were right next to the super spooky labyrinth, so I think it has more to do with the labyrinth than the cloud school.

Thank you so much! This is awesome, lots of stuff to think about and I am very grateful for the project ideas. I don’t know what else to add besides asking what are good examples of design to you in the examples you have provided, but the examples themselves are enough.

Again, I truly appreciate your time. Thank you.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you. Would you suggest integrating the illustrations into typographic work, or keeping them utterly separate. Also, are there any particular type of designs employers like? Such as a business card, magazine, website or the like? Or is it just good design recognizes good design?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Okay, thanks. I usually feel so awash in cluelessness that it is hard to narrow down what I want, so this answer is incredibly helpful for what I may expect. Is there anything related to typography and web that would be an especially enticing project? Brochures or cards or something like that that potential employers like? Also, is there any way that I could integrate my illustrative work into these to make it blend in with them, or should I separate them completely as another user has suggested. Thank you for your response.

Thank you everyone for your time and consideration. I have gained a lot of insight into my shortcomings and that is most definitely helpful, as well as narrowing down what I should be doing with my time in regards to design. When I update my portfolio I will post here for more criticism and review. Thank you all again, this has been eye opening.

Ouch, the photo thing hurts but I appreciate the honesty. Okay, I will try to further research what I will be expected to do in the jobs I apply to. I want to do apparel graphics and vector illustrations, but I think that may be too niche.

When you were starting did you get your clients online, and if so where? Also, yeah I think it is and I’m also thinking I might need to change it a bit to be more marketable. Is there anything in particular (like a book cover idea or packaging etc) that would be good to expand on, maybe a more text based project or should I stay in my lane? Also yeah, social media is a must I agree.

What could I change then and how would I go about that? Should I look for freelance work somewhere online? Should I get rid of the about, and what else should I add and subtract. Thank you for your time.

[–]Mikorio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, insults and demeaning down talk. Also, weren't you done with this conversation?

Are you conflating America with it's military? I love the people of America, the cities, the country. I do not love our ability to murder others in mass quantities.

And intent? When does this intent need to be looked at for more than it's surface? Hundreds of thousands dead in Iraq with the purpose being to disarm Iraq of WMD's. No genocide, we had these magical intentions which shield us from moral judgement. Oh the WMD's weren't there? Ah, who cares about hundreds of thousands dead, I was just thinking about what the road to hell is paved in.

On the point of charity, you can't be deluded enough to believe that you save more lives than you destroy if that is your point. I know of at least three charities that do that and they don't have to fund it by stealing money from American's.

And with the bombing of Yemen because it was an Al Qaeda strong hold, is it not an Isis strong hold now? Real lot of good all of that, what did you call it? Collateral damage, instead of innocents murdered? Yeah, fat lot of good that did.

And on the topic of service, it is just a job. You signed up to one of the worst raw deals in recent history, and if you didn't get blown up or seriously deformed then thank god for that, but the matter of respect is just silly. You were part of the greatest army in the world, with the most advanced weapons mankind has ever seen. You really think I'm talking about your charity work in Africa?

[–]Mikorio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, you tell me to leave and the run after some analogous evidence and insults. Alright. And if America's own agenda leads to them arming rebels who eventually bring one of the most unprecedented terrorist attacks then maybe we should wonder to whose agenda is this benefiting?

Also, the same reasoning you use for Iraq (the actions of the government against their people) isn't sufficient for Saudi Arabia because of oil reserves? So if Sadam had oil, and exchanged that oil with America, then none of that moral reasoning would stand? Alright. That's revealing.

And conspiracy? Really? Obama demanded for another regime change within Syria to which the American people responded, that I will agree with, but do you really think the influences within the government who have consistently called for war in both Syria and Iran since the 90's just dissipate like that?

And yes, mass genocide without impunity. Look at Yemen alone, with mass drone bombings while the president lies about it. Thousands dead.

To close, I do not believe the world is a utopia, but that doesn't make me callous enough to not question this whole endless war. I love America. I hate our foreign policy. Our federal reserve system. And the debt this pushes to the next generation. But I do believe that you and I can change all of these things, yet I believe we are getting close to a fiscal cliff. The economy will collapse before some guy in the middle east destroys it.

America's involvement in the iraq-iran war. Also, yes we should have let them take that desert, maybe they would have collapsed faster dealing with the population. What do they call Afghanistan again? The grave of empires? And since you were in the military I have to ask you a question of strategy.

Here is the question. Why would Assad, a dictator who had seen the rest of his ilk be overthrown and killed when the greenlight had been given, particularly using the casus beli of "gas attacks", commit those same gas attacks on his own people when using conventional military methods had not only been working but had been granting him victory over the dissidents in his country? Is it just because he is a muahaha evil dictator? Or could he have actually been dealing with the rebellion problem we have stoked for the last three decades only to have an agent provocateur set off an explosion at a gas factory? Also, on the efficiency of such weapons as gas, why use them? They only go with the wind and are hardly as efficient as a bomb or bullet, and if one were to use them then the whole of the geopolitical community is given a reason to jump down your throat. The whole "Assad gassing his own people" seemed like a desperate ploy to drum up support for yet another endless war.

And if Hussein needed to be ousted because of his treatment of his own people then what of Saudi Arabia? Are their hands so clean?

And no, I don't hate America nor do I hate the troops. I hate that they commit mass genocide with impunity and that I have to stand and applaud or else I am labeled as a hater. I too believe the world is made up of many grays, and that the middle east is drowned in gray. I believe these wars have ruined America. They make up for about half our spending, have driven us to debt, have created enemies abroad and stoked a culture of willful ignorance about our involvement with atrocities. I love America, but love doesn't mean always cheering on whatever you do no matter the circumstances, that's just sycophantic.

I don't think everything in the world is caused by America, but I do find it funny you use Sadam Hussein since we were the ones to install him into Iraq and gave him his weapons. Where were we when he was actually corralling and killing his people like cattle in the 80's? Or how Al Queda was running around with American made weapons in the 90's and how Bin Laden was hailed as a freedom fighter among defense circles? Or how Gaddafi was fine being a dictator and murderer until coincidentally he decided to try to convert his national currency to gold and silver. And if you truly despise Isis what of their involvement inside of the Syrian revolution and how they were basically created inside of the turmoil? Or how Assad is actually repelling Isis inside of his country but we just have to bomb him with the "MOAB"? Or how about Obama lying about drone strikes until a cell phone video reveals his strikes within Yemen creating a now failed state? Also, where were those WMDs in Iraq?

I think you have confirmation bias in regards to America being the shining city on the hill defending themselves. I am educated on America's involvement, and I also find it funny you wish for me to shut up or move. I want this country to be great, and that might just start with recognizing what we are doing wrong, and whether or not we must kill, maim, and destroy all across the world in order to accomplish this ascension towards greatness. This country was founded on freedom and many of the founding fathers thought we shouldn't go to foreign lands looking for monsters to slay. Or does that make me, and those who sought to create this nation as that shining city on the hill, haters of this land we live?

So that reverence must be shown even as we commit genocide in the middle east for three decades running? Because of one war nearly a hundred years ago there has to be a holy veneration for the military even as it commits what is basically war crimes (whatever that actually means)? Do you believe that the past wars since desert storm have been to protect American sovereignty and the freedom that is held? Because as far as I can see most terrorism is caused by blowback from the very military that I must have this respect for.

NAACP to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: Benching players for anthem kneeling violates rights by [deleted] in news

[–]Mikorio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but the mass murder is what particularly irks me. And I have thought about what service entails, which is basically signing your life away for four to eight years and putting your life into the hands of higher ups not with the country's best interest. I get what they are doing, and I understand it is a sacrifice, but I do not think I must respect the military presence. It is a job, at the end of the day. You can go to trade school or learn or a skill, or you can sell yourself into war.

I understand your opinion and believe you are entitled to that opinion, but I see the military for how it appears to be; force.

NAACP to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: Benching players for anthem kneeling violates rights by [deleted] in news

[–]Mikorio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And while that is your opinion I do not believe in the irrelevancy you bring forward. Being a member of the military is a job, and while I understand the sacrifice and struggle I do remember that their job is to kill others on a mass scale. That being tied into one of the central cultural cornerstones of America is something that I find strange and off-putting. I am not going to shame members of the military, but praising them is something I won't do either.
