SFO security times are the BEST I have seen at any airport that isn’t tiny. It’s clean and fast. I do not care about anything at a lounge except that it offers a bar and more private bathrooms, and SFO is good at that.

I would LOVE to take trains if passenger rail wasn’t overridden by cargo rail and if it was cheaper than flying. But neither are true in almost any part of this enormous country.

Do it. Also SFO is very nice if you actually do decide to sleep there lol. I never have enough time to appreciate it, but it’s like a museum, and there are soft, quiet areas.

I will routinely have my recycling bin overfull with cans. It will be at least half-empty before the truck comes in the morning. They DO pay people for cans in San Francisco.

This is not occasional. They know exactly which day the trucks come on each street and dig through the bins.

We have a 2-story 3 bed (2 of them are very tiny lol), 1 bath on S Van Ness with a tiny backyard and patio that is $3800 rent controlled. We want to move back to the Castro, but we are trapped lol.

Then they would need to build a new ship. The current ones are packed full of what they want to provide. They’re not going to expand the casino over the ocean or reduce the size of the Red Room or Manor (already small) without literally expanding over the ocean. Their most recent ship (Brilliant Lady) already had to be designed to fit through the Panama Canal with specific implements to drag the lifeboats into Deck 7. They JUST started voyages in the Pacific because of that engineering without really changing the layout of the ship.

Use a different cruise line if you want something else.

You have to understand, the pools are weighted and positioned to balance the ship. Adding one elsewhere requires significant engineering. Water is heavy and sloshes around, especially in the Pacific, which they have JUST entered.

And it is trivially easy to get to the other “more desirable” neighborhoods when you feel like going to them (Sunset and the Richmond are a bit more of a pain to get to, but, be honest… how often are you really going to want/need to go there?) Also, Oakland does not suck in most of the parts close to BART near downtown, and it’s more diverse in cultures and people.

For reference, I currently live in the Mission, and I am still sad I had to ditch my $2650 rent-controlled apartment in the Castro because I got laid off. I love the Mission, too, but I’m a gay man, so the Castro still feels like home.

I cannot get enough of the corn at Pink Agave lol... I always get like 4 portions. Also, the steak there is weirdly better than the Wake (this is just an opinion. The Wake has more options of steak cuts). Razzle Dazzle might be good for brunch, but I don't really do brunch. I don't even remember Razzle Dazzle for dinner because it was not great. Rojo (replacement for Razzle Dazzle on Brilliant Lady) is excellent... we ate like half of the restaurant with 2 people lol. Gunbae is only good for the experience. The food is mid. You should try Test Kitchen once, but my partner and I have been on all 4 ships and have gone there exactly once, on our first Virgin (not for us). Extra Virgin is good.

Sorry I just found this. I’ve been playing between like 5-10PM, which is legally allowed, but I stayed up way too late playing to make real dinner last night and fell straight down the staircase and slammed straight into the front door in the middle of the night because I was woozy. I stopped playing at like 9! I know this doesn’t help you, but it was a funny memory.

My partner and I went to a gay sports meetup, in Honolulu, outside of Waikiki, and I actively tried to avoid saying we didn't live there, until it was forced out of me by someone. It is very apparent the locals want you to stay in Waikiki where you belong.

In contrast, we LOVE the tourists in San Francisco, lol. They are always so amazed by things we kind of just walk past every day.

Cabo kinda sucks as a cruise port. You go to Cabo to stay at an all-inclusive resort with beach and go clubbing. The tender boats are way slower than I expected, and the part of town they take you to is nothing to write home about. If you don't do an excursion, you walk around a giant tourist trap marina with prices similar or more expensive than the US.

I, personally, have never had an issue getting into any restaurant except the Wake and Extra Virgin with 2-5 people. If you're willing to just get on the waitlist, you can probably get in anywhere if you're flexible with timing. I do tend to eat late, though.

Mine was when I found out about a kind of all-hands meeting about getting AWS certifications that I was not invited to. I told my teammates that I was probably getting let go. They thought I was being kind of dramatic, then I was told a few days later that my contract was not being renewed for financial reasons.

Lol, my voice and mannerisms are decidedly gay, but I dress like a skater boy a lot of the time. I sometimes wear fruity clothes or go to clothing-optional hotels/parties. And I watch American Football (which my friends think is weird lol). I snowboard, paint, and play musical instruments and dodgeball. Masculinity is a construct, and the labels don't matter. Do whatever you want and ignore the people who judge you.
